isit illegal to run a motorbike plate on the rear of a car where the numberplate should be??

If you mean those tiny plates than yes, they're illegal.

Square plates like the one above with the right sized lettering are ok. Theres a 6n with a US spec bootlid near me with one and its certainly a fresh look.

Theres probably a site on the net which will give you the legal dimensions a number plate has to be.

Theres a website with all the MOT test requirements on which should be useful. i just cant remember the address.

geeza your letters on that plate above are slightly smaller an thinner than standard UK font car plates though arent they?

thanks for your help vwmk3jon the characters are smaller, i might just buy a UK legal square plate and trim the sides to make it fit :( missions

gugs yeah its smaller...just done wont the car attracting un needed attention from copper...

no .. this isnt true. If you car ISNT an import then it is an offence to have any kind of square number plate on your car.

I no this as my Bro has a honda CRX SiR which is an import, he ran the square plates and never got any fuss over them..

However, his mate who has a honda CRX but an english version ran the plates, got pulled and had to surrender them or get a fine.

But tbh, there not too anal about it i just think the copper was having a bad day maybe..
