My car engine has seized and my boyfriend doesn't wish to spend a minute longer on my car. We have recently restored my little Mk3 Genesis coupe to its former glory, and then this happened! And unfortunately now, since it won't go anywhere, I can no longer do what I had been considering before we decided to do it up, clean it up and generally spend lots of money on it, which is trade it in for a new or nearly new car to get 2k off the price (you know, the new Government initiative thing). SO I desperately need a new engine, and someone to replace the current dead with it. I have been told by an RAC mechanic that this is no more than a day's work! So, would anyone consider doing this for me, and if so, for how much? Don't mind what size engine I convert it to really. I live in the Bournemouth area but can get AA to tow it anywhere in the UK... Sorry for the strange request peeps but just keen to keep my Polly on the road for some time longer! As a disclaimer, I would need to know the technical credentials of anyone who may be kind enough to help out.

I think there is totally no point restoring that 1.05L seriously, after hours spent, I see no point in working on it anymore. The head is refurbished but the bottom end is gone plus the oil pump from what I can understand.

I think the main ideas is to get a new engine, like golf Mk3 1.3L or whatever and preferably reconditioned or rebuilt. In that case I dont mind putting hours in it but totally see no point doing that 1L one, totally futile...

So in short, new engine, preferably a straight swap with not much headache as cant be bothered with electronics and wiring looms bla bla bla...
