I have a set of bbs ra's 14" 6j wheels that need tyres. I want low profiles obviously as the car is on its arse. However, people keep telling me all sorts of different sizes for the car, anything from 175 to 195 which has proper confused me. If this is indeed true, whats a lower profile, 175/50 (which are like rocking horse shit) or 195 45 (comman as muck and cheap as chips)?? Or indeed what fits better, or what is the preferred size. Any light shed on this would be extremely helpfull. Ta.

go into search and type in stretch tyres might be on here or edition38 but sum dude has put pictures up of all shapes,stretchs and sizes of tyres to suite the wheel size you have.

195/45/14 are low profile but in my opinion a bit too wide for a 6j wheel.

185/50/14 would be my suggestion, not much bigger than a 195/45 but a better width and if you get the Yoko A539's they are amazingly grippy. Thats what I'm running on my decked 6n.

They still make A539s in that size?

wish they still did them in 15s.

I don't know if they still make them but my tyre place can still get their hands on them.

I run Yokohama 185/50/14 A539's and i totally agree with you Steven.

I did 8k last year and regularly swap them from front to back and they

still have more than enough tread to last me another 2 years.

I've done 30k on a set of fronts and I'm only now having to think about changing them. Still legal for another couple of thousand miles though.
