Here are a few pickys of my little girl, she is still a work in progress but with her being a budget car up to now has amounted to under £1k including the car and time as me and my partner are doing it up together so progress is slow but getting there :-) I love her anyway :-D

i like :p , did you just spray the normal alloys that come with the polo the same paint colour of the car? if so is it a big job IE: can it be done without proffesionals? mine are just abit rusty thats all maybe i shudnt be cheap and invest in some deepdish

Yeah thats the next thing to be done also the back one is staying on i think if it does it will go black same as the one in the grill.

RTTS was good as a festivall but really disappointed with the amount of V-Dubs there.

going polo show though cant wait fingers crossed Cherry will almost be complete by then, and might have a shot at the show and shine for the first time, you never know until you try haha. :-D

i did gina's wheels. they not difficult, just needs patience.

just used rattle cans from halfords. the trick is prepping them well an taking your time. i had to rush a little but some things just cant be.

its easier to paint the wheels all one colour, but if you do two tone then make templates to mask off the areas you dont want painting, as sticking masking tape on new paint is guaranteed to fuck up! trust me i know! lol i had a dust bin shape one to cover the centres and like a hat type thing with no middle for the outers. making them took bloody ages though!

if you not painted before, make sure you read up on it first.

hiya tommy thanks for the head's up i guess you took one wheel of at a time then sprayed the middle of them . not taking the tyre of the rim just of the car or did you do them with the wheels/alloys allready on the car? presumbly you have to prime and laquer them pre spraying , as i said earlier i think id do mine black whitch would probly be the easiest colour as if i hit a tyre or anything its not gonna mark :p

i had them all off the car as we had spare wheels, but yeah if your gonna do it, take a wheel off and do it in a garage if poss. outside is very difficult due to bugs / dust / wind etc..... ideally id do all at once as the it'll speed things up if you do all the processes in steps, ie all wheels sanded flat, then all primed etc.....

i had the tyres still on and just used some masking tape round the edge, making sure to poke it right down the lip of the rim to stop overspray.

just as an indication, it took me nearly two weeks of evenings doing the wheels to make sure i got a good finish, so if you can sort your self a spare wheel to use while one is off then do so as the last thing you wanna do is rush it to get the wheel back on.

process - sand down the wheels to key the paint, if there is oxidation then you'll need to spend extra time on that section to get it spot on. then use a rust treatment / etch primer, then i tend to just use filler primer on wheels as it gives a nice thick coat, although normal or zinc is fine too. several thin coats is way better than one thick one so dont rush this bit. once primed and left for 24 hours flat back the paint using 600 / 800 grit wet an dry to make sure its flat, then id give it another coat of primer, flat back, wipe with panel wipe & tack cloth, then apply paint - agin several thin coats. if its non metallic then give it about 2/3 coats then one thick ish one but avoiding runs. you should be able to get quite a good wet look, but if not you can sand down once finished an polish it up.
