Discs and fluid

Featured Replies

So I've bought Ferodo DS pads and Goodridge hoses for my mk2 in an attempt to improve the braking. Just need a set of discs now and dot4 fluid, so the question is...

How much difference will more expensive discs make in terms of braking ability and what brands can people recommend?

GSF sell Brembo non-vented discs for £10 each. EBC non-vented are £25 for a pair. I don't want drilled or grooved. The EBC grooved and vented use the standard EBC disc, but cost shed loads more.

Also, will Halfords DOT4 do the trick or should I be looking for something else?

Cheers!

BUMP! Brakey brakey... no bump

Well, I'm going for Brembo pads from GSF for £9.55 each, but thanks for the help. ;) Having researched on here and reading many a discussion it would seem that these will do fine.

The problem is because I'm not going vented, it's difficult to find 'performance' solid discs. Hopefully the hoses, ferodo ds pads and new brake fluid will make a difference...
