Iv scrapped a couple of cars in the past but i did not get the scrap man to do the v5 scrap part.

so i am always getting fines for no tax what do i do as i have no proof as the cars where crushed with lots of other metal when scrapped.

who do i contact? what do i do?

i get this with a bike i used to have

it annoying as hell, and costly if you dont sort it straight away, with the tax and that i mean

i think i got told to send a letter explaining what happend, as i understand it they then just take you off as the liable owner

i cant remember exactly tbh, but phone dvla and they should point you in the right direction

Yeah you have to write to dvla and explain you no longer have the car and ask to be removed from being the registered keeper. we had this with a car at work, even had proof that the car was scrapped and we stil had to pay a fine.

i did this with d j hughs in weston i just wrote to the dvla and sorted it out, btw i moved from cheddar to weston 3 months ago you following me lol

I used to get this all the time.

I simply send a letter recorded delivery stating that I am not the current owner of the vehicle.

I keep it short and simple and send a photocopy of the reminder.

You will get a letter in return thanking you for your letter, they will remove your details from the vehicle and investigate the matter.

I have never paid a fine for car tax.
