Right, I'm thinking about getting something else for a daily driver after the summer (finally realised I'm 21 and I'm mostly seen in a 1.4 Polo).

I have a budget of around $3.5K (gay computer doesn't do pound signs).

The car must (I say must it is slightly flexable) meet the following criteria:

• Bigger than a Polo
• Looks more grown up
• 0-60 in around 8 seconds
• Either boost or good engine note
• Give me at least 33mpg on a national speed cruise
• Handle well if I want a play

The top of my list so far is a Corrado G60.

So I just want suggestions, what would you buy?

I would say a Golf.

I like Corrados but I wouldn't say they look more grown up, still quite a lads' car.

if i had that kinda money i'd be looking at mk2 escorts and the like, old, unreliable, unpractical and uneconomical, but what does any of that matter if every time you look at it it makes you grin...

(and you need to change your keyboard language to english UK to get the pound sign, i'm guessing you also have to press shift+2 for the @ sign aswell, if i'm right, it's because your keyboard is set as US not UK)

Honda CRX del sol - 0-60 around 8 seconds - faster if you go for a VTI or SiR (Jap model) - I'm getting 35 mpg cruising around with the occasional heavy right foot and they have the right NA raspy exhaust note, goes round corners well, but great fun putting the top down on a sunny day and driving with the missus! (I have the electric trans-top model and can take the roof down in 30 seconds without getting out of the car)

Downside is the limited boot space (enough for a weekly shop plus a bit)

G60's are over priced and over rated, just stick an 2l 16v in be just as much fun but a lot less than half the price.

Seat leon 1.8 20v turbo

Both of these say I would have bought a golf but i'm a little more grown up and not a scene sheep!

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Especially for the Jap ones, got me thinking a bit.

Still leaning towards a Rado G60 though.

But I'll keep my options open and take my time looking for a car. No rush haha.
