I live in Manchester and my friend was caught out by one on monday while i was in the back seat...

the best thing was i knew it was coming up, didn't tell her to slow down in time and looked right at the camera shouting "slow down!!!" while the photo was taken.

I have asked her to send off for the photo (i believe you can ask to see the evidence?) as it would make an awesome facebook profile piccy and get a few laughs :p My confused shouting face squashed up in the back seat of a sporty KA.

EDIT: wow, it even tells you where the red light cameras are! :p Jezus i didnt know there were that many near my house, i just counted 22 within a 3mile radius!!!!

I know, got two going from the town centre to my house though, they dont work when your going towards them though :ninja: . Not bad ta, havnt got my bumper sorted after someone drove into it, just had to pay out on new brakes and pads and havnt got any money to waste on things that are cosmetic on the car. Hows yours? Havnt seen you outside dominos for a while, unless you changed some stuff on your car??

my housemate got a ticket the other week through salford while following me

oddly i was travelling above the speed limit but didnt go off for me :D

unlucky for him though

If you go faster than the speed limit through a camera in my area it flashes just after you pass it so you might of set it off and he got the flash and ticket if you get me

My Bro once set a speed camera off by mistake, he was going towards a camera that only takes backs of cars and he swerved to miss someone pulling out, he crossed the white lines in the middle and triggered the camera, only the poor guy on the other side of the road in the camera's view got taken a photo of and there was no way he was speeding yet as he had just pulled away from a few yards before the cam!

Don't think he'll be trying that trick out all the time though just in case!

If the other guy wasnt going over the limit theres nothing to worry about

There is for him, as the camera was triggered with only him in view. That was my point.

As rik already said :retard:

you miss the point completely, the car in veiw of the camera was no way near going fast enough to trigger the camera but had just pulled off from stand still and was near the last few strip lines that are common on the road near speed cams. My bro in the van swerved onto the wrong side of the road (putting him directly behind the car that had just pulled away in the opposite direction) and the van, being so long i guess, triggered the cam but as he was passing underneith it, he was out of view by the time you saw the flash.

*whipes head* so to sum up, some poor sod was driving just at the right speed and my brothers dodgey swerve to miss a car pulling out triggered the speed trap, which took a photo of the wrong car.

Who knows if the guy appealed and got away with it but the way it happened he certianly would have got an automated letter in the post with the fine.

so he was at the end of the lines when it went off?

they will think he was booting it then

He still wouldnt of got the ticket!!!!! :retard:

Are you the other driver or something? how could you possibly come to that conclusion? It flashed, he was bang in the position you should be to set a speed trap off, and theres no way the camera caught anything else in it apart from him???

EDIT: And even if he didnt need to pay the ticket... i only said i bet it still got sent through as a letter... so technicaly he got a ticket.

P.S:

do you think those white lines on the road are just for show or something?

What are you getting at there? he crossed the white lines for the hell of it?

Il repeat myself again, he still wouldnt of got the ticket! The other person can set the flash off but its still going to measure the other cars speed, not you or whoever you said. The white lines measure how fast your going, they time you over the distance you travel over the white lines and can tell if your speeding or not, someone correct me if I'm wrong but I'm quite sure its like that. And to your edit, he still wouldnt of got a letter!!!

This time though, the car was over the last few lines and moving, but easily under the speed limit of 30 as it hadn’t been moving for long, My brother was doing about 40 when he was forced to the wrong side of the road travelling towards the face of the camera and then had mostly passed but slightly to the side of the cam when it flashed. So that cam get’s triggered by something moving at 40, and takes a photo of a car near the end of the white lines with no one else to be seen.

To my understanding it’s one of them normal Gatso speed cameras, which someone has to go and manually take the photo reel out and process… So if you were that processing guy and you looked down at a bit of 3.5mm film which clearly shows a car at the end of the white line and nothing else… I hardly think you’re going to just throw it in the bin and think he hadn’t done anything without at least following it up!!??
