You want 2-3 psi of pressure, so a regulator with that in its range really. But if you go back through the thread, theres a method of t-ing it into the fuel return. Its a post by mikeymk a few posts up. You can do without the regulator that way, just need a high capacity fuel pump

Have a read back through the thread mate, it'll help you get your head straight and everythings here. Better than me trying to explain it again, and give you conflicting advice. Mikeymk is the man, so anything he's done, i'd try frst!

I'm sure the standard mechanical pump and swirl pot system would be fine for a 1.3 MK2,otherwise you'll need an electric pump (with a safety cut out).

That's all you need - pump the fuel back to the tank via a line to the bay and back,and attach the carbs to the line via a T piece.

The carbs will be fed with the back pressure,with all excess fuel pumped back to the tank - all at minimal pressure for safety. The T naturally distributes pressure where its taking.

Tank--filter--pump--T--tank.

Its as simple as it sounds.

so which fuel pump would i need then? not to sure

and about the dizzy... will i need a mk 2 one?

it is literally a T shaped bit of plastic, 3 holes in it, one in, two out. so the fuel from the pump is distributed to the return line and the carbs. a swirl pot from a standard carb engine does a similar job with addition benefits of bubble free fuel :)

alrite mate.. I fitted my R6 bike carbs today and the car is absolutely awesome though i need to get the setup checked otherwise the cars gonna drink petrol :-D

i just fitted the regulator with a T piece in it, didnt need a new dizzy or the ignition from a mk2, I've just used the standard mk4 stuff including the pump. When the car is cold, just start the car and rev the engine for a few seconds and its fine...really pulls now, so impressed :-D though mines a 1.6 8v

nice 1 mate cant wait to get mine done now

2" pipes for a bike carb manifold sounds a bit huge to be honest mate. also your gonna need the entire mk2 ignition system, this includes the dizzy, coil, amp and the loom to connect it all together.

The title is flawed,shouldn't have been given a model in the title because its for any Polo (laws permitting) or indeed any vehicle/machine that requires such an engine.

If the 6n's immobiliser/ECU etc still needs to be addressed then we need said info in the relevant topic and the link for said topic into the pinned one. I cant do that,being allergic to computers.
