hello , been a member on here for a bit, since i bought my gti. originally wanted a lupo gti, but due to money have to change my mind, so i started looking a the polo gti and found a really good condition one for £2800 with 68000 miles on the clock so i bought it, best decision i have ever made.

what it looked like when i bought it, completely standard. the wheels had the common lacquer peal on the rims. and they were just in a general bad condition

so the first thing i did was sort the wheels out, i got them powder coated a dark grey which i am really happy with.

next little thing i did was to debadge the back of the car the polo and gti badge.

i also got a new gti badge for the grill and got some red piping around the grill.

about two weeks after i bought the car i ordered some pressed plates, ordered them with no with no band on, but when they arrived the front came with a GB on it and the rear came with a D on it, not happy, rang them up and there gonna send me the correct ones. i have put them on because i waited a long time for them so i decided to put them on anyway.

and yesterday i received my new door cards, the car originally had the ones with red material, but i wanted the ones with black material so they got put in today, looks better.

and the thing I'm most excited about is these

they arrived on friday and are getting put on on tuesday and i cant wait, drop it about 80mm all round i think

so thats about it for now got a few more plans just got to wait for more funds, heres a few more pictures i took after droping my girlfriends off at uni today

looks nice mate! whats the craic with the front suspension not lowering you fixed it mate?

EDIT: I've just remembered theres a grub screw on mine clamping the nut thing to the shocker casing. have you undone this and then tried?

yeah undone that, rung venom today to see what they say, said its not a falut with the product so there is nothing they can do and the garage wont accept they have done anything wrong, bu i took the whole unit out today and still dont move anywhere. so gonna have to buy a new set, but dont think i will go with ap.

  • Author
hmm surely your doing something wrong though.... venom wont admit its a fault...? did they use to move before you sent them to the garage? get abit of force into it... like put the hub mounting face in a vice and get a scaffolding tube on yoru c spanner or something.... because it dont matter what you do to them if youve got to buy more.. i would try everything mate!

yeah good point, venom said that the garage must have crossed threaded them, and yes they did move before i sent to the garage. but i cant see how the garage crossed threaded them

What do you mean they won't adjust?

If you're wanting some coilies to sort you for now give me a PM

  • Author
how the hell would they of done that :? you would notice a fucked thread if they managed that and surely they could only do that if they took the nuts off the threads which i doubt they woudl of done. if its cross threaded they must of cross threaded it all the way down to there so cross thread it abit more... haha!

I doubt it is cross threaded just them producing bullshit answers....

the guys exact words was, "they must have cross threaded it when there was presure on it and tryed to adjust it" i didnt argue with him but the only time there is presure on it is when the wheels is on and its not jacked up. and then you cant even get to the adjuster ring. i dont know to be honest I'm pasted careing now tryed all sorte to move them would rather get a new set, then if they start to move once they are off, just sell them.

looking nice mate :-D

what width are the wheels?? are they 9s on the back or 7.5s? maybe see you at a lincoln meet if we ever do them again lol

right its been quite a while since i have updated this thread, the borbets have gone and been replaced by some g60's which I'm really liking right now.

got some smoked side repeaters, put them on

bought some spacers for the back 25mm each side.

got my gearbox reconned about 3 weeks ago and clucth replaced about a month ago aswell, ples MOT in a week, so these have taken up all my spare money which was meant to be spent on some nice new mods.

some furture plans i have are, getting the g60s banded still haven't decided on that yet but would like too, retrim the interior already ordered the material, doing it in a deep red suade should be done by the weekend hopefully and maybe gonna get the bumpers smoothed dont knw about that either gonna try and keep it suttle.
