Received a fixed penalty notice of £30 yesterday evening regarding placement of my numberplate in the rear window. I accept I was at fault and everything and payed the fine via the EXTREMELY annoying Manchester Magistrates Court automatic payment system 10 minute later.

My question is do I receive a letter to my home address through the post regarding the FPN?

i dont think so, i got one cos i didnt have a front plate, paid it the next day never herd about it again :-)

Don't want to give mother and father an excuse to give me a load of crap over it. Only reason it was in rear window was due to it being stolen once before, but oh well.

i told mine, they asked why i didnt have a number plate,

i said it fell off, which it did (f**king double sided tape)

I went to quote the numbers through voice recognition, as it asks...here's the scenario:

"Please quote your reference number"

*Not real number*

Me: "Seven Four Two Two Zero"

Computer: "You said Seven Four Seven Seven One, is this correct?"

Me: "No."

*Wait 20 seconds*

Computer: "Sorry, we are having difficulty understanding. Please try again." *Something along these lines*

So I hang up and am stood there for like 20 minutes trying to tell the damn computer that I am saying ZERO and TWO rather than SEVEN and ONE. It was funny the first time...but annoying after that haha.

I can imagine you tape those things? lol

Oh yeah, defo. That's exactly what I remembered half way through and actually put on a "posh accent" for lack of a better phrase and it bloody worked.
