Looool!!...its done now =)..but problem...apart from the fact that its too low which looks PIMP but i wouldn't be able to drive it anyway, anyway, here is the problem, with the new coilover on, the car was lowered down and then this happened:

the top mount literally popped off the rubber mounting and just shot up through!

then i noticed there was metal cap on the floor that had come out on this old strut (passenger side), however this cap didn't come out on the drivers side so i figured that was the problem, jacked up car again, axle stand in, which was a mission because the car is so low but anyway, i put this top cap back on and jacked it up again to solve the problem, this however gave a NEW problem, which is that with the coilover in place and the top mount in place and whatever, there is no thread whatsoever at the top, so i cant get the nut on!!

any ideas ? I'm really stuck on ideas dont know what the hell to do next!!...

anyways here how she stands, yes i know my tracking and camber is fucked...once the ride height is sorted ill get the tracking and camber sorted! the coilovers are only wound up about 4/5 threads, definately needs to go higher! cant believe i just said that!...but thats the case!!

When you put the rubber top mount on, did you put the bearing inside it and then the nut on top of that?

what bearing ? you talking about the plastic housing with the bearings inside and then a metal cap on the bottom ? Babz_S told me i wouldn't need that

also I've only got one of those bearing assemblies, the other one blew apart!

Sorry I'm thinking 6n, although id imagine you'd need all the bearings/bits that go with the rubber top mount as they fit ontop of the metal bit iirc

I'm confused to fook!...I'm gonna get pictures of the all the bits that came off the front tomorrow morning and post up, honestly if someone doesn't mind helping out, please give me a hand, I'm having doubts bout getting it dne

also has anyone had this problem when jacking the car up the coilies are just really stiff (they're 5 threads up from the bottom which is way to low so I'm going to raise this up to about 10 and see what it looks like/what happens), like when i jacked up the passenger side from the jacking point near the front, the whole passengers side would come up, and the rear tire would be off the ground too

is this normal ? or have i done the whole back assembley wrong too

just everything is going wrong now

could that be because the threads are only five up from the bottom ? or does it not matter how many threads are on ?

Right...some more information

with this metal top cap thingy that came off the old suspension there are literally NO threads coming through the top mount

(dont have any pics of this) but its like an upside down U shaped part

without the metal top cap this happens:

Now, to clear this up once and for all, do i need this following part ?:

The top is plastic, the middle is plastic, the bottom is metal...in the plastic housing are bearings...this is all that came off of the old suspension, the rubber mount was still in the engine bay on the drivers side with the metal washer/mount on top and then rubber underneath that and then i think the metal cap that is causing all of the problems. This whole bearing housing blew apart from the drivers side, so it wasn't used and the coilover sits in properly...i dont know wether i need this or not, can anyone clear this up ?

THANK YOU!!!!!...that helped so much!...I'm off to Euro Car Parts in an hour or so, to get the large bearing plate as one of them blew apart and the bearings flew everywhere

right, got new mounts, new bearings and none of it has helped...any idea's ? without the bearing the drivers side has gone in properly (when i say bearing i mean this:

drivers side is all done, passenger side just wont go in, with the bearing it doesn't go through

without the bearing it goes through 2 much..any ideas ?

and babz the jack is stuck under it on the other side...trust me its low
