Hey

I put my sub in my car yesterday and it seems to be working fine apart from one problem. Whenever I turn the volume above 13 on my headunit, I get a crackling noise coming from my front speakers. It sounds like some sort of interference. It has never done this before.

Any ideas what could be causing this? I've got the sub earthed to a bolt next to the passenger side rear light.

The speaker wires coming from the headunit might be near the power wire from the headunit

Do you have the amp power wire on one side and RCA wires on the other side?

I've run them both down the same side mate. I've used this wiring kit in my past 2 cars as well, and never had the problem before.

You should run the both wires down different sides has the current from the power cable will get into the RCA cable

You amped the front speakers?

Nope, the front speakers are just coming straight from the headunit. Could this be because of a bad earth? Cba running the power cable again lol :)

The front speakers might have blown or the wires have come lose, or the wires in the headunit are near the headunit power wire

If you haven't already got this sorted, it could be your alternator. Turn it to when it hisses/crackles n slightly rev the engine, if the noise changes its you alternator!
