Hi all, haven't posted any pics of the Mk1 on here for a while. As i have just finished the refurb of my desmo roofrack i thought it was about time i put some up to date pics up. Yes, i kow its STILL riding high But i will sort this eventually, After the body work, which will be done some time in the next month or two.

I drove the car yesterday in sun like this and nearly caused a crash, as people were staring at me driving the other way rather than where they were going! Its the wheels that do it, pedestrians were just as bad with the pointing and staring.

ha thats how the none vw people think, its sort of going on the jap style now, moving from subtlty to in you are face! only not with the drastic bodykits...

love the speakerbox though well done...dont like the roof rack though!!

i have a set of almost new 60/40 lowering springs from my mark1 polo for sale if you want to lower it? the rear ones have never been fitted . i am breaking the car me thinks so anything else you need let me know . alex.. p.s car looks awesome

very very bizarre choice of mods =/ but the paint does look very good in the sun.

any better pics of the whole of the car, particularly the front, i like the little eyebrows but cant picture what they really look like front a front on view

That roof rack is feckin huuuge! Those trims look terrible, ATS classics suit a slammed MK1 so well, might want to get on that

If i wanted to follow the crowd (and had the cash), i would already have fitted ats classics.

MK2 Golf Teardrops, are going on next, if i ever finish refurbing them. The Green trims were very nearly pink! But i bottled out, so they ended up green. The wheels and four virtually new tyres were £15.

The best thing about the roofrack apart from its size is the fact that it cost £5 :-D

seriously . the fact tht people are moaning that it doesnt look anything like they want it to look its just stupid tbh . if you like it then thts all tht matters . plus if you did do what everyone says you should do then it would just look like any other mk1 . pluss !!! i love it . i think it looks really cool . anyone whos saying they dont like it then is just jealous they dont have a mk1 .

I think its cool. Every other MK1 i see is kept standard. i like this because there are some different mods etc and its not standard for once.

Restoring a car back to mint takes a lot of money and time. If you have it then its all good but as the guy said, he hasn't got it.

Surprised to hear this comment, the only mk1's i've seen so far that are truly standard are Dan's Gold Polo and Rach's Silver Derby. I'm all for any MK1 be it standard or modified. Most mk1 owners I know find that a cheeky drop and a nice set of wheels is all that's needed to make a right little head-turner.

Anyway, I like what you've done. New rims would be the icing on the cake

if u cant take other peoples opinions u shouldn't post pics in the gallery, read the rules...

to be fair, no one has said they dont like it cos its not scene. (except prox the scene kid ) you've dared to be different and it hasn't worked, deal with it or try again. you can avoid the 'scene' and still have a car that people like. and i'm pretty sure i read somewhere that florencent wheels are gunna bethe new scene thing?
