Ok, so i have just rang up for a quote about adding an induction kit onto my cars policy. Apparantly i have to be 25 before they will even consider letting me do ANY modifications to my car. Was he pulling my leg, or has this happened to anyone else? If i knew this before i signed on the dotted line, i wouldnt have went with these killjoys. This has seriously affected my plans for my car :(

I'm with em too, u cant even drive other cars when your fully comp till your 25. lol, its all good fun to them.

if i knew this was the case i would have paid extra with another insurer, and bought a gti . . .

oh well another expensive lesson learnt.

how long ago did u start the insurance coz if it wasnt that long ago cancel it n start with another company, i had to do that, only lost like a month of noclaims build up

bullshit, you dont have to be 25 to be insured fully comp, I'm with directline fully comp on my own valver. the police did however pull me over due to them messing up my reg with someone elses though.

He said that direct line won't include driving other cars 3rd party on a fully comp policy until you are 25, not that you can't be fully comp until you're 25.

well i renewed in march on my fox, then in april swapped it over to this car, do you think that it would be possible to cancel it? how much did it cost to switch?

AND could anyone suggest any good insurers that allow mods?

with direct line it was about £850 for a 1.6 105bhp, with 2 years no claims, not really wantin to go up much more

When I had a fiesta i crashed it into a copper, I had an induction kit that was not declaired and sent if off for repair and all was fine. Oh and I am with direct line too.

thats direct line for you lol i have just got a 1 year full comp insurance with them for 1100 (am 20 and have under 2 years driving experience with 3 points on my license and a head-on crash last year (not my fault tho lol)was hit by a drunk driver in a 4x4 when i was in my little mk3 fiesta) and was rather pissed when i found out i cant do anything to my car :( so its going to stay as stock for quite a while lol

direct line are rubbish as they wont even insure me as a named driver on a 2.0 dci nissan primastar van until I'm 21!!!!!!

tbh, I'm with Direct line, purely for the cheapest insurance.

online discount, 2nd car discount, house insurance discount. :) all adds up.

for mods, I've heard Admiral are good, and Bell (a branch of admiral) so I've heard.

would never go with direct line again, first year i was with them wouldnt insure any mods so cancelled it !

been with hic and no problems all mods declared and most free so all good :)

Avoid directline and churchill like the plague...

i took out a policy with them stating that i WOULD be fitting alloys and was told it was fine..

when i went to put them on and inform the insurance they told me not until I'm 25 or my insurance was VOID and i was 23... complete bunch of apes... anything they tell you get IN WRITING or it means jack shit.

I'm with adrian flux now fully comp for 320 quid with coilovers BBS ra and lights grille all that jazz

I should have ran Flux and Quinn when I was shopping for my renewal a few weeks back, i never bothered as I found the ring back deal too mjch hastle, but seems I probably lost out there

I'm from worcester too! Shall look out for you :) I'm in a 99 silver valver :) nothing exciting... standard wheels etc as only just bought it :)
