How did you go about shortening the plate recess? was thinking of doing similiar to mine as I'm attempting to prep it at the moment..

At a guess, chop it out at the ends, figure out how much to trim them down by, centre everything with magnets, weld, grind down the welds, fibreglass + fill, paint :)

you mean pink lol, its a trs tow hook.
