Looking good, nice clean example. Reckon you should spend a fair bit more time on that rocker cover though, get it too a nice mirror shine :)

yeh i will be doing more work on it when i get a new rocker cover gasket and remove it from the car.

sorry man only a vage reply before i was nipping out so i done it quick.

On the tuff parts such as the runs under the mirrors and where the badges used to be i used G3 compound polish which is a granulated polish which brings it up better. after doing the ruffer bits i used meguires gold class wax. the more coats the better it looks and works a treat (smells good too :D)

On the rocker cover i used a wire drill bit on an electric drill. That removes all the crap but is so hard to keep it in the right direction. then i used a sanding pad i one direction to even it out. and used a little touch up pen from my bros old mk2 gti.

hope this helps and cheers for the comment.

Kuszpit :D

Nice work! Looks like you've got a nicely kitted out garage there, how many spray guns?!

I'll have to keep track of this one ;)

Those where from other projects. I recently restored a 1978 Alfa-Romeo alfasud Ti cloverleaf and before that a Vw golf mk2 gti. One day i would love to retore a split window campervan too but will take me a while. :)

cracking motor there fella. a few ideas i was toying with and you have just done them which is kinda making me wanna pull my finger out this weekend.

I love the flush door pins. Are they 6n2 pins and the metal rods trimmed down a bit? nothing else required?

I have seen the headlight spray thread and really want to get that done this weekend.

Was planning to give the rocker cover a good sand and maybe a lick of paint.

Finally, the headlining looks amazing. Really impressed with it considering it is just sprayed. I was fancying covering with black fabric... but now I might just give it s spray, and if I dont like it I can still cover it I guess.

Il keep an eye on this thread cos it a good one!

that dash looks sweet mate! Good work :)

Yeah man, this is sick

the engine bay is looking ILL!!!

Love It

Alex

I thought you were a 16 year old skinny white kid? Not Jam Master Jay?

Cheers for the comments.

I will be getting coilovers and a frend is holding a set of Porsche teledials that have just been refurbed and new tyres with adapters.

But i am gathering Ideas Folks.

I dont know what colour to go with the teledials. I was thinking polished lip with Toffee white centres of Black centres with a polished lip. AM NOT SURE :?

ANY IDEAS WELCOME GUYS. :-D

Kuszpit.

good start looks good already

Yeh all you do is fit them then lock the car with the window down and measure the size it sticks up then that should be the height you have to cut off. Then they will sit flush.

Also thats the exact idea i had with the roof lining. If it looked crap i was just going to cover it but it turned out really well. :D :D

Cheers

Kuszpit :)

thanks man. :)

I think the best thing is my mum and dad dont fund any of my intrests as they feel i should work for my belongings so i have payed for my polo and all my parts myself and bought my bmw with my own money too so it makes the car feel better to me knowing i had to put effort into getting them, if you know what i mean. :)

I'm the same, although there paying for my driving lessons, But I've just got a job and am trying to get more hours to fund everything, once insurance is out the way ill be able to bring more stuff in etc, but I'm also lackign space for storage etc :(
