280+bhp and 60 in under 6...

Featured Replies

Right, first things first... It's a '98 Volvo V70 T5... Yes I know, but Volvo's are becoming cool (Trust me!)..

Name me another car that has full black leather, dual climate control, electric everything (inc seats), 60 in under 6secs, can fit pretty much anything you want in the back, AND... Cheap insurance! (Told you Volvo's were cool!)

Anyway, i'm thinking of letting the beast go as i'm going to be commuting between Oxford and London from september and although I can easily get 32+mpg on a run, I need to get an oil burner as a student budget doesn't quite cover that plus rent, bills and pub! lol.

The essentials...

MOT - 04/2010

Tax - 03/2010

Mileage - 154k (Although it's about to embark on a trip to Le Mans and back, and is the only car going with 4 of us in it for a week.. Shows you how well I trust it's reliability!)

Bad bits... (Every car has them)

Stone chips on the bonnet, 2 small cracks in the windscreen, a small scratch on the leather about 4 or 5 inches long (Hasn't split or anything, might even come out with some leather cleaner, just havn't got round to doing it yet!) and a couple of the alloys are starting to show their age, still very presentable though. Also, it looks like some numpty has tried to wash the bonnet with a scouring pad and touched the roof up with some laquer in a can - Both should be easily rectified with some t cut and i'm waiting for a chance to do it when i'm not being nagged to do something else!!

Price wise i'm looking for £2700 or p/x for something diesel. Can put money your way for the right car too.

Sorry for the rather crap advert, i'll update soon with full spec and more pics.

I'm in no rush to sell, so no silly offers please.

whats it had done to it engine wise?

Not alot really, turbo is now running on actuator pressure (16psi) with no problems, never over boosts and the turbo's are fine to run up to about 18psi so no worries there. It's also always left to warm up before use and cool down after. It did have a carbon fibre Pipercross induction kit fitted but I put the original back on to clean the Pipercross. Other than that is standard as far as I know.

Trust me, you won't be disapointed by the speed - The look on the faces of people in boxsters, elise's, m3's, etc is brilliant!

lol, I really don't want to sell it, it puts a smile on my face everytime I get in it, I just don't fancy sitting on the m25 in it each day :-(

Buy a new daily ;) It is a truly epic car - My best mate came out in it the day I bought it and he liked it so much I had to take him to buy one a week later!

Right a little update... Got back last night from a 1200 mile round trip through France and the car was faultless! Even got stuck in traffic in 30 degree heat for an hour and the needle didn't move at all and it didn't use any oil or water whatsoever. Even managed 27mpg with the girls 14,000 bags and a generator in the boot!

It cruised effortlessly along the motorways and the cruise control was a blessing! Makes me think I shouldn't get rid of it!

Right little change of plan, after the girlfriend and mother moaning at me about getting a bike i've decided to get a diesel for commuting. Looking for either a mk4 gt tdi or a b5.5 passat tdi really, although i'm open to other offers aslong as it's not too small or slow! Am also willing to put around £1k plus the car towards it (But only if you wait a couple weeks so I can carry on saving! lol)

Nice one for selling it mate. Yeah people don't really seem to be into buying cars at the moment so some people are getting real bargains! I'm trying to convince myself there's a way that I can keep it so I don't have to sell it for a silly price, but i'm gunna have to get a diesel.. Never thought the day would come but it has! Still, 32mpg aint bad for a massive estate that suprises 'sports cars'!

Right price drop, was going to put it at £2500 but went out in it yesterday and the f/o/s wheel bearing sounds like it's starting to go so i'll put it down to £2250. Now that really is a bargain people!
