As you no i just bought my mk2 polo

Then into the backgarden she goes.

Before

Then started stripping the engine and loom out. I thought this was going to be a massive job but turned out not bad.

After a few hours got to this

Got myself a mk4 polo rockercover bit shabby which got turned into this for £24 including bolts cap and powdercoating

Which will go nice with this?

Got a mate whos doing an apprentaship in fabrication got him to make me this not finished yet tho

2" baffles

Engine is almost out just waiting on a mates engine lift then ill whip it out.

well I've been a busy bee!!!

But i dropped me phone with all new piccies on .

i have cleaned and degreased the engine bay, Then scotch padded it to take the shine off it also it etches it. Then i sorted out the rust, next it was a full coat of anti rust primer all over, then full coat of stone chip, then paint.

next i fitted the loom bit of a ball ache but got there.

next was the engine took a while didnt wannt scratch paint lol. well its in!!!!

next was wiring it up.

A friend had one of those gazebos once and it wasn't actually waterproof. Hope yours is or that it doesn't rain!

Powder coating one of those rocker covers can be an issue if any of the powder coat gets on the inside of the rocker cover or gets trapped behind the splash guard it can have disastrous results! I do like the colour though.

verry good project mate, that must be my favorite colour they did the polo in, not seen it before. looks like a minter, good lad.

i think the strip goes above the grill to close off the gap between grill and bonnet. i'm not sure because it's the bit i was missing when i had square lights!

Yeah,doesn't it go on the bonnet itself? To hide the cut-outs in the bonnet?
