1.3 MK2 Golf Non-Sunroof - NOW SOLD - Non-Polos

Hi,

Before reading this please note that I don't have a massive amount of spare time on my hands, and I would appreciate that if you aren't really that interested, then please don't bother.

It's a 3 door non-sunroof which is in pretty good condition with very little rust and a straight body, with a cool retro porsche steering wheel. I bought the car off a bodger about 10 months ago and have spent a lot of money on making it good mechanically again, including the following:

clutch

rear Bushes

suspension replaced with 2nd hand spax coilovers

front top mounts

drive shafts

cv joints

front bearings

track rod arms

heatshield off the exhaust manifold

replaced gearbox with a 5 speed as it was shot

Alternator belt

Tracking

2 x new Pirellis at front

Basically the guy that I bought it off cut the springs, put it on the deck and wrecked the car. It's currently on 14" audi multi-spokes, but can be provided with 15" venoms with ok tyres, if that's your kind of thing.

Mot runs out in July - should fly through the next MOT without any problems. Tax, I think is July/August but I will check. Engine is sweet as a nut and uses no oil or water. Interior has no rips or wear and again is very clean. As explained, it's in good mechanical and aesthetical order.

No real history apart from in my ownership, I've kept all of the recipts for the replaced items listed which includes the one for the gearbox which cost £150ish a few months ago.

There are also Infinity 6x9s in the rear shelf, and infinity/kenwood components in the front, no head unit.

Only gave it a quick rinse, but it does come up very well with a polish. Please bear in mind that due to the age of the car it's never going to be perfect, but the shell is very good and unique, with no sunroof. The n/s front wing is a slightly different shade, but have put a photo in.

Bad points - bad earth on the stereo which means the lights have to be on to use the stereo, easily sorted by someone who knows what they're doing. Carb freeze in cold weather, can be typical of carbed cars, but on this occasion the knobhead also removed the pipe to the airbox which has been difficult to sort out, just needs a thicker pipe than the one I found.

Basically, the car is my daily driver and I have another car for a bit of fun, so it has to be 100% reliable, hence why I have sorted any issues that have arisen and now am confident that it should be ok.

Reason for selling - Got another car. Not desperate to get rid of it and will sell it at a fair price because of its condition, uniqueness and now reliability due to having spent approx £700 on it.
