1.3 jetta

Featured Replies

Make: vw

Model: mk2 jetta

Year/Reg: E

Mileage: 90K ish (i'll check tomorrow)

MOT: 6 months

Tax: 6 months

Good points: since i bought this car about 3 months ago i've fitted a new clutch, FK coilovers, 14" scirocco GT steels with lip trim, center caps and very good tres, plastic arch trim, golf GTI front seats and an after market air filter. at the min it has the jetta front end on it but i also have a full golf front end with 4 light grill to go with it. i spent a full weekend cleaning, polishing and genraully tidying this the other week (i also painted all plastic trim matt black) and it came up well, there are a few scraches here and there and there is a dent under the rear light (it can be seen in the pics) so its safe to say this car isn't mint, but it does scrub up well and drives fine. it pulls well for a 1.3 but as would be expected its not what you would call fast. i've not had it long but its never let me down and hasn't missed a beat once, i drove it back from surry and it was spot on.

Bad points:

i've noticed it likes to 'mark its territory' a little but not really checked where its coming from yet tho as i thought it was just oil left over from the scirocco untill the other day lol, but i'll have a closer look tomorrow. i think it may be because i have left the breather pipes venting to air after fitting the airfilter, my mate said it was smoking a little the other night too but said it wasn't coming fromt he exhaust, looked more like it was from under the car, but again i think that might be oil from the breather getting on the exhaust as it never did it before i fitted the filter. the speedo works but over reads a little (115=98... aparently lol) and the millage doesn't work but i havesome GTI clocks that can go with it.

Location:

Nuneaton

Pictures:

just a couple of when i was cleaning it, i'll try and get some proper ones tomorrow. it currently has a bonnet on that has been rollerd with brown paint but i have the orginal one to go on it.

yeah i weren't a fan of the lights, took ages to scrape it all off using my finger nails lol, was it you that bent the drivers wishbone by any chance? didn't notice till i lowered it and the drivers front wheel was sitting so far back it was rubbing on the wing

but yeah its been a top little motor, looks pritty tidy now all the bumper's and arch trims are nice and black and its had a good polish. just out of curiosity how much did you sell it for if you don't mind me asking?

no, its was sweet as a nut when i sold it lol i never drove it anyway, it was passed on to me by a mate with a plan of 1.8 20v t'in it lol but he never bent anything (i was with him nearly all the time lol) i sold it to a guy for £150 with no tax and test, then it was here again about a week after up for £500!!! lol I spoke to him and he said it flew through an mot lol so i presume it would have been him that bent it lol

Edited by Taxi

Hehe that was me you sold it to. Nope I didnt bend it either. It went through the MOT with no advisories so god knows what happened with the wishbone. I bought it from Taxi then changed my plans so I never actually drove it apart from bringing it home lol.

Brilliant little car this and as has been already said it drives faultlessly and is quite nippy for a 1.3

Good Luck with the sale fella.

THIS IS TURNING OUT TO BE A LEGENDARY THREAD!!!! lol :D :D :D

but the cars no longer for sale

decided against getting the newer car as it was high millage and there was just more to go wrong, besides i know this ones a good un 8-)

heres the wishbone in question (old one on the left)

like i said tho it drove fine and i only noticed it was bent after i lowered it and the wheel was touching the back of the wheel arch

but yeah she's been a great little car so far don't even know why i thought about selling tbh. i'd miss seeing the shock on passers by's faces when i turn a tight bend and the tire grinds against the arch or when i take a speed bump wrong and pedestrians dive for cover as the subframe hits it... priceless

like i said, FUCKING LEGENDARY!!!!

Damn that bone is screwed lol did find it seemed to wander a little on long straight roads tho :p oh well, all's well that ends well!!!!!

Keep us all informed, i know i would love to see what becomes of this beauty :D

i've got a thread in the members gallery for this and my rocco so any updates will be posted there any way mate. not really got much planed for it at the min but thinking along the lines of GTD conversion in the new year. just enjoying having a car i don't have to bump up and down the road at 7am to try and get to work every other day like i had to with my old rocco :x

awsum, well you look after that jetta! it did me n my mate proud!!!! and omg, have you driven it from a tenner to empty???? it goes foreva!!!!!! yeah ill keep my eye out for it :D toodle loooo

haha yeah it gets me to work and back and all my running around through the week on about a tenner
