ok cool thanks mate :)

one last thing is it totaly legal and pass an MOT like it?

cheers :)

as long as the light still shines thru the correct color. You either want to spray it thinly enough to not effect the light, or get a colored bulb to compensate.

Or go somewhere that doesnt do MOT failures....... :ninja:

well if you only do 2 coats of it it should be fine as mine has just had its mot

If you tiny them and are happy with them but think the lights don't show through enough you can always buy higher wattage bulbs then they will be fine just be sure not to spray the reflector section on them mask it up as I have known pol be pulled for it! But other than that I think it's not a problem!

The reflector section? :p

sorry for being so dumb

what is the reflector section ??? i just sprayed mine completely lol

It's between two of the light sections on a 6n it's between the driving light and reverse light or on the other side it's between the driving light and foglight,to locate yours it will be a section were there is not a bulb behind it and lookin close it looks lie a reflector!! If you already spayed it all you can mask around the reflector section and clean it off with bit of rag and nail polish remover I found it's easier than turps and get you high quicker LOL but if you don't do it you legally need some stick on reflectors that look proper crap, you don't have to have all of it showing but a decent section look at some off the smoked rears for 6ns on eBay for an example!or chance it n if you get pulled say " damn! Sorry officer the little buggers where I've just been must have robbed em!" Hope I have helped! And I think red tint looks slot better than the black I tried with black but could not get them to polish up! Know a lad at my work that did them exactly the same way and would look good but he has an astra! Haha

Here you go mate this is how the light breaks down of may be the same on yours just a different shape cluster you don't have to mask off all of it if you look closely the reflector doesnt lighy up, it has about 6 rows of different shaped platic you could mask off 3 rows or as many a you like I would keep it at 3 rows minimum just to be safe! Hope that helps dude can't wait to see your lights, another tip i hve heard is to let it dry for about 48 hours if you can and then tcut them apparently that makes em shiny as hell

Thanks mate. And thanks for proving my lack of knowledge lol :p it was so simple what you were on about :p

hahaha

last thing, do i spray the inside or the out side of the light??

And how many coatings and stuff? thanks :)

So you think the best thing to do is to mark off half of the reflector :) ??

Thanks mate! :D

Spray the out side but make sure it's clean and dry first like square back said then spray 4/5 light coats, masking half of will probably do the trick! Or maybe just mask off the reflector the width of the masking tape while your masking the sides n back up (the one that's like 2cms or watever not the proper fat stuff haha!) of your tinting red then it should look pretty good I look forward to seeing them!

I only know about this stuff cox I've done it before so don't worry once you do it you'll be an expert!

sweet :)

one day i will be an expert :)

Take the lights out or just mask the car up and do it when they are on?

And just to make sure, i cover the whole light except have of the reflector? :)

remember you are talking to an idiot :p

You're not an idiot mate! I would take them off the car and mask up the reflector section and everywhere else exceptthe lenses you want tinting! Then spray!

ok cool well i have my brothers wedding this weekend so i dont think it will be done, maybe next weekend :)

just a quick not i only did 2 coats on mine but that is with the black tinting spray so might be different i would just do 2 then c what it looks like with the lights in them

  • Author

ordered me some red spray, how easy is it to get the lights out? :p

piece of piss mate, pull back the carpet on the sides (where the first aid kit etc is) and undo some nuts (think there 8mm) unplug them and give them a tug out as they will be stuck coz theyve probably bin there for years! (the reason i say undo the bolts and then unplug it after is i have seen people unplug them n undo the bolts and they fall out n crack! so the plug acts as a safety!!!)

thanks mate :).. first aid kit? i didnt know i had one of them :D i will take a look when the weather is better :)
