you need to use clay bar lube.

i use a spray bottle with a minimal amount of autoglym polish and water.

basically, wash car.

chop off a bit of the clay and push it out, get it about 2 x 4 cm.

rub it horizontal, rub it t'other way till it all feels smooth, then move on.

do bits at a time, when it's dirty, fold it in on itself and push it out again.

if you drop it, chop off another piece, last thing you want is ANY bits of crap on it as that's it, paint is marked.

afterwards, polish it then seal it with a decent wax.

if you feel flush, get some HD wax. You won't regret it.

HD wax... how come you can get everything in HD now-a-days?

Yup Halfords sell the Meguiars clay kits, and i think they do their own cheap equivalent too..

www.cleanyourcar.co.uk is the best site for cleaning stuff imo.

HD wax is getting some very good reviews too.

i got the halfords one, couldn't really comment on how good it is because i think i did it wrong, only took about an hour to do the whole car and couldn't tell the difference so i'm guessing i fucked up

Takes a bit of getting used to.. i kept doing parts of my bonnet until i got it good.

Depends on grade of the clay, and technique..

I use there clay bar, only needs water but i normally use with soapy water or dodo juice Born slippy.

Used the normal one for the first run on my car, now use the soft to clear any tar/sap when i wash.

Ben I Have the Lube if you wanna borrow it. I'll bring it at the weekend. You shoulda said and you coulda had some clay off me!

That sounds so gay.

You can just use a tiny bit of car shampoo in water to replicate the lube if you require.

like I said ?
