just wonderd if anyone as purchased a gearbox from this website

as my 6n2 gti gearbox is whining and banging into gears like a biatch

i had the diff pinion bearing done last year and its going again

this site says they put uprated bearings in just thought idask the question

also does anyone know if the bearings last a lot longer and howlongthese gearboxes will last

There's a bit of bull being talked on that page. Stainless fasteners aren't that strong and the normal reason for using stainless is corrosion resistance. Not a problem in an oil bath. Much better with name brand 12.9 socket cap screws and K nuts torqued up correctly. That bottom photo shows the pin that holds the planet gear in place has disappeared along with a chunk of the diff casting, not the rivets which is what is claimed. The comment about the load spreading plate is dubious too. In the picture, it's fitted on the side of the crownwheel, which is a tough as a tough thing. It doesn't need stiffening up, if it did then you'd be replacing both final drive gears when you rebuilt the box. At the bottom it recommends filling the boxes with ATF too. Can't comment on the uprated bearing, but automotive bearings are usually better quality than the industrial equivalent. The usual solution with bearings is to go bigger but this limits the speeds. The alternative is to change the taper angle but I can't find an alternative for the sizes in the 085 box.
