hello just after abit of advice on how to wire my sub up with the rca cable. the rca cable that i have got is double sided with both sides having two ends + and - (i think) but on the back of my head unit i have only got one out put for the sub so how do i wire it up to my amp?? could i connect the two into 1 with a connector are will this break my sub? are can i buy i special rca lead from somewere

The RCA cable has got 2 connectors for the headunit on one end of the cable and 4 connectors on the other end of the cable, connect the end with the 2 connectors to the headunit and the other end to the amp

You don't need a RCA for the sub, you just connect the RCA to the headunit and then connect the other end to the amp.

ye i understand that at the back of my head unit ther is only one aux lead cumming out for my sub and then the other end is going to the sub channel on my amp which has 2 aux connections there so at the bak of my headunit there is going to b one flopping about so i am only using 3 out of the 4 things on mi rca cable

I have tried toread this and make sense of it but it's quite hard, so you have your head unit with a red and a White (or + / -) socket yes? And you have your amp with a red and white ( + / - ) socket on it, then take the RCA cable and run it red to red connectors and white to white connectors both to your hu and amp! Job done if that's what you needed! Then use your speaker wire (decent size) from amp to sub!

If your headunit has only one RCA output then you'll need an adapter

what h/u is it never known a branded h/u to have a blue rca output

i take it it is some far eastern thing if thats the case then you need to use that blue output using for example the left/black rca plug on your phono lead then at the other end you WILL need to fit a female to male rca splitter on the black/left as the amp will need both left and right inputs for the sub channel to get the correct amount of signal(splitting one rca into two provides an equal level to both channels) as it uses both inputs to supply the signal and ground through the rca

and before anyone asks if you were to connect only the left input to the amp the sub bass will be slightly quieter

all or most amps will work without it done that way but using both is the correct way

it is halfords own rip speed but still cant understand y they have only put one on for the sub when the front and the rear have two

sub out only needs to be mono so only needs one output but the amp still needs 2 inputs thats why you split the signal at the amp end as i mentioned earlier
