Ask to see the 'Calibration' (sp) of the gun something like 75% of the time the police dont do it which mean the gun has not been tested properly there for they cant give you ticket! my old man got off this way couple years back...

i though if you was under 10mph over the speed limit you could do a course?

aparently u cant ask 4 this if u fit into the "small select few" who fit the criteria then u will b offerd it?! they jus want money 4 there xmas party lol scum

100m is ample room to slow down. If you take it to court, its very likely that they'll take the polices side and up the fine you already have! If i was you, i'd pay it and just learn from your mistake.

take it on the chin

3 points doesnt change your insurance that much

mine hasnt moved muchos

You can by law ask for the calibration cert and they have to supply it. If they refuse there is no case as they can't or are not willing to prove the gun used on that day was working accuratly.

But personally I wouldn't fight it, if you go down the not enough speed signs route, they may say you were driving without due care and attention, as your ment to go by that last speed limit sign you see/pass.

And 30mph signs only need to be at the start of a 30mph road or where you turn onto or approach a 30mph road.

Its 40mph, 50mph and national roads that require repeater signs every so often.

You were doing 38 in a 30.

You dont have a case to be fair.

Live and learn fella.

Basically, the bit about the calibration certificate is all to do with disclosure. Which is bascially them showing you the case thatg they intend to bring against you in court. They're under no obligation to do this until such a time as they need to prepare a case, ie if you dispute the ticket. If you go to court, you could quite easily be looking at a couple of hundred quid, plus costs.

my advice is pay it and behave.

thanx 4 the advice people read the thing that came thru the post and speeds of 35-39mph in a 30 zone i should b offerd the driving awareness course ;)
