hi guys, am trying to gauge interest to see if its worth me selling my beloved polo as I'm considering an air cooled dub. so as much as it pains me the gti would have to go. of all the cars I've ever had its been the most fun, one of the best handling and easily has the best online community/forum.

She's a reflex silver polo 6n2 gti with 75k. am looking for about £3200

It has the factory fitted full leather interior with heated seats and air con. just bought a new mat set from justmatz with gti logo on them which are a lot better quality than the originals. recently had a fair bit spent on her as the gearbox i fitted a year ago failed because of a manufacturing defect just out of warranty so a new box with 2 year warranty has been fitted along with clutch last month. I'm an engineer on the Red Arrows so do a lot of the work myself as well as the servicings but I'm sure you will be able to see that its been looked after. Also its just been MOT'd this week and taxed for 6 months.

It has privacy tints fitted on the back three and front two door windows with slightly lighter at the front which i think looks great. not too dark but makes a massive difference when driving, reduces the glare and heat in the vehicle. also the b-pillars have been painted satin black like the newer polos as i feel it improves the lines of the car and with the dark tints looks better.

Its also been lowered on coilies and is sitting on some 7x15 ats cups which are in reasonable condition, as seems to be the case with all the ats's I've had the laquer isnt too great so starts to peel pretty quick so these could just do with a recon nothing major though and look good when cleaned up.

it has a carbon airbox with cold air induction pipe fitted in the bay which makes it sound a lot better.

the rear light are smoked but has just passed an MOT with these fitted no bother and also has pressed plates which the only thing the test centre made me do was to remove the little stickers that sit between the letters. also never had a problem being pulled over for these things but just in case keep a normal set in the boot.

has a kenwood headunit with ipod connection in the glovebox going through the standard speakers which I've always been amazed at the quality of.

good points:

bad points:

small dent on D/S wing near the door from when a garages jack handle sprung up and knocked it, not too bad though.

some small scuffs on bumpers nothing major for a car of this age

airbag light is on from when it has had a non-original steering wheel fitted, i have the vw resistor which is all that needs fitting just haven't got round to doing it then all that would be needed is the light to be reset. its never really bothered me too much though.

overall a great little car, with tons of grip, insurance group 12 so not too expensive and a 1.6 so not bad to tax either. if it doesnt go i wont be bothered at all because id happily keep hold of her for as long as i can. only putting it on here at first as the forum has been loads of help to me with everything from changing bulbs to suspension fits.

lol just to clarify no this isnt bepe's car his is the one with the black bonnet in my pics although ours did look a lot alike for a while. my names is james also though i haven't got blonde hair and i think i am selling i just wasnt sure if people would be interested or not

yeah i am in lincoln. erm let me sleep on it its a gti you know not the 1.4 like bepe's am off for the next few days if your still interested but then am away for a week with work

if i can sell my golf mate id be interested in coming and viewing is there any movement on price mate??? seen some a bit newer for a bit less money mate thats all although there probably not as nice looking as this mate

i have seen newer for cheaper as you say but it is low mileage and its had the dreaded gearbox changed and has the full leather interior which you dont see on that many. would you be coming far to view? could send you more pics if theres anything in particular you want to see
