who runs co-ax fronts in the doors? (6n)

Featured Replies

I'm wanting to change the front speakers in my 6n, cant really be bothered with comps due to hassle of wiring the tweeters separately, who runs co ax and then effectively runs 2 sets of tweeters, (one in the door) one in the dash

what do they sound like and what models do you have, I'm on a strict budget of £50 no more!

cheers guys

running like that lowers the impedance to 2 ohms on the h/u which is too low as the h/u is only designed to run at 4 ohms

so you will find the h/u will get hotter than normal and can turn itself off

fitting componets is really not that difficult as the speaker cables that run to the mid in the door is connected to the back of the tweeter in the dash

so your saying i can wire the tweeter with the existing cabling going to the dash??

i replaced the door speaker with my infinty one with the original wiring, then removed the original tweeter, cut the plug off, found out which 2 of the wires out of the 4 came from the headunit, wire the crossover into that with the other two wires going into the mid bass port, then just plug in the tweeter and hid the crossover in the hole in the dash :)
