hi all i am a newbie to this site but I've been a vw enthusiast for a few years owning a mk2 golf driver and then a mk2 golf gti but now I'm looking for a smaller car for the misses to run around in. not sure if i am writin this in the right section but i am looking for a

6n polo 1.4 16v in mint or nearly mint condition with service history and not above 100 k miles not really fussy about colour as long as its clean i am bassed in devon but i am willing to travel for the right car i have cash waiting for the right car at the right price.

The 6n 1.4 16v is the top model of 6n available in the UK. Engine wise that is, they all come with electric mirrors, electric windows, power steering, sports seats, one piece bumpers, central locking etc as standard.

The only options they had were aircon, sunroof or open air roof.

But there is no 1.4 16v CL or GL or anything its just a 16v so what extras you get vary from car to car.

And speaking from personal experiance I'd happily go for a 100k+ car rather than one with less milage.

My first 16v I bought on 110k and I did 25,000miles in it hastle free, never spent a penny on it apart from oil changes, services and modifications.

My second one I bought on 63k and by 73k the head gasket had gone, thermostat housing decided to shit itself and it never felt as nice as my old one, was slower and never ran as smooth.

thanks for the good post so in peoples opinion what is the open air roof like? i think i would go for ether a sunroof or open roof over the aircon providing thre not prown for lecking which is the best option

I've got open air and it is amazing in the summer.

All valvers came with a sunroof, unless they've got AC which is pretty rare.

You want a 1.4 16v or a 1.6 GLX, have same spec apart from the 16v is 100bhp

Actually I've got one with sunroof AND aircon.

And passenger airbag was also an option on 16v's.

I think there was someone on here with a 16v without a sunroof a couple of years ago, dunno if he had air con though.

Next car is definitely having air con..

Both my valvers have had a sunroof.

Never leaked or caused any problems, and in the warmer weather having the sunroof tilted forward brought the inside of the car to such a comfortable temperature I never once thought I needed aircon on a drive.
