Hi chaps, irrespective of car what are the general engine mods you can install to increase the brake horse of a motor and what exactly do they do? cheers

make a difference.

General:

After-market air filter K&N etc. allows the car to breathe easier.

4-2-1 exhaust, allows the gases to exit more efficiently

Big 3 wiring upgrade, alternator wire to battery, all the earth cables changed and earth points added to certain key engine locations

not so general:

Bigger/more throttle bodies (bike carbs etc.)

Injectors

Head Work

Forged Pistons

Re-enforced bottom end (depends what sort of power you intend to get)

Turbo

Supercharger

It all really comes down to how much your willing to money and time to spend on getting it finished & running...

Better earths means less cranking and better on the starter motor

I reckon a lot of these little mods that are meant to make your car a bit more responsive are all in your head.. and its running just the same really!
