If i can get a front subframe and bumper cheap and i mean Cheap less than £50 delivered ill keep it, as i love it but i really cant afford more, just hoping a freinds brother breaks his WIll have it then quite cheap

providing the chassis leg is straight then that metal bumper panel is easy to replace, just unbolt and bolt a new one on (done it on mine not long ago with a scrapyard one) just check that the chassis leg is straight and not cracked, if that is the case then all should be well :) To be honest most of that damager looks superficial.

Damage is superficial just now I've took the bumper off it wont go back on due to a few things,

Should have it sorted soon before it goes down my dads long narrow drive - I've pissed the Nan off with all the crap I've done to it!

My bumper panel is exactaly the same as yours, a great big dent! its shite trying to get the bumper to sit properly.

I know with mine when its been "so Called repaired" they have put a bolt, washer a nut through a whole under the light with a bracket that was then attached to the bumper, due to the bits where normal clips would go to screw in were all broken, this left with it being cut due to this bolt being completly rusted and not budging, and where the bumper slots into place on the side, the part that has the two holes attached to the chassis is bolted the the opposite part and then this was forced in and now being forced off wont go back in, will all be sorted in the next 2-3 weeks when i can go pick the parts up :)

Going to service the car this month too, purchase a polishing kit and get started with the Rocker Cover and wheels and also order some pressed plates, de-wiper the rear and debadge the polo bit

I would do that, but its a fair walk from my house, and I've seen the ones I'm getting upfront, and I'm getting a decent deal with some other parts :)

Good work on spraying the front grill, think I'm going to have to do that on mine.

My bumpers are getting really grey and the stuff I've tried doesn't seem them all black for long.

What are you using on yours as they are looking nice and black? I have been tempted to spray mine satin black

Using megs Back to black at first left it 2 days, and when ever it gets washed i use Chemical guys trim gel - Works really well and lasts a while, but thats with a car at standstill

just blast the heat gun over your bumpers to keep them black for longer, lasts ages.

Well pressed plates ordered, going to pick up bumpers and slam panel next weekend i think, then getting the sub put into a pre built box and find a way of mounting my amp at a angle, Also going to finsh the whole build off and then the cars going down my dads drive :)

Took the slam Panel off today to find that one side is perfect but the other side - Ohh shit its totally deformed ill let the pictures explain,

Then to move onto the car decided to run out of petrol (think it has, havnt been bothered to check) so a mates pissing around in it, and SAYS "he slipped it into gear" he turned ignition on to work the stero car goes flying foreward, so i just and i MEAN JUST managed to slip my foot onto the foot brake slamming my body into the door inches away from my nans wall, leading onto a VERy busy road, not been the day tbh

Boot build supports are in place securely now, but didnt fancy started it as already had enough screw ups todayy

But got some retro ideas for it now :)

Door cards are going checkered as is the boot install floor :)

Compo builds have a definate design and will be covered in black vinyl

Going for some MK1 GTI/Coupe S seats(white stripped ones)

And then headlining is going to be sprayed black

Reverted back to orange front and side indicators for a OEM+ look with pressed plates

Lowered 80/80 but the rear will be raised a little to have some stance (i hope)

Running either 7J or 8J alleycats :p

Well front end is nearly there

Fitted the Crossmember today :)

As well as attempting to mount the front bumper, need to remove crossmember and re alighn the clips to do this but ran out of time today, fitted my orange indicators also, makes a huge difference :)

Once the bumpers properly on with the pressed Plates, i twiddle a few screws to allign the lights fully, and its done FINALLY

Need to dye or spray the bumper as its very faded, not sure on how to do this anytips ?

The bumper here may look black, but its just had a quick coat of chem guys trim gel to attempt to bring it back, but there still spots :(

Well pulled a sicky in work as i couldnt be arsed with a fat idiot of a manager moaning, and scruffy people in twatalan who arnt capable of looking in front of them. so set to work today, lost my rag with bumper, sliced finger, headache and a visit from the police :s (someone complained)

Started with front end, stripped it all down Once again! Then fitted, with a bit of bashing, Bumper is still being a nice person to align up with the clips so i gave in, will sort it out later this week

So Degreased a little more of the bay, then fitted the door cards, What a difference it actually makes,

And PianoMan, there going black as they were haha

Martian, ill text you in a bit, busy tomorrow but should be ok for Thursday AFTER college though :/

Also tore the old round airbox off and attempted to fit the golf elbow, i got a little confused so left it sat there :S

Someone explain how the bolts on the TB go to fit on the Elbow :S

Engine isnt too far off, Grind that crappy manifold cover off, Stick the elbow on, with the pipercross and degrease a bit more

Exterior need one of the P-slots Valve replacing, Door sprayed, and Front End sorted

Thats UD Sorted, Should have it slammed and on new shoes for Alltypes

i dont understand I've got exactly the same car as this but my pillars between the door window and the rear window are black? did you spray yours? anyone know why mine is different?

also my front lights and grill dont sit level I'm scared to check now haha! dont sell this beast man its lovely
