I'm thinking of changing to a dirty tdi and wanna no if they are anygd what is there spec like and should i sell my mk3 polo for one

whats the difference between the td and tdi? fancy a mk3 derv at somepoint myself, shame there mostly 5 doors

well I'm 18 and i got a insurance qoute on a 1.9 tdi golf and its 5 pounds more then what I'm paying now on a mk3 polo 1.3 so i just wanna no what there like

providing it's the AHW, cable shift gears, hydro clutch, fly by wire throttle.

providing it's been looked after and it's not rusty as, you'll get a great mpg, 90 bhp and it's mapable to about 120

and if its the AAZ you can get them up to about 130 with a few mods (they have no ecu so mapping isn't an option with these). basic mods you would need are a freer flowing exhaust (some thing like 2.5" to 3"), either the diesel pump or just the top off it from a mk2 GTD so you can give it more aggressive fueling under boost, you can also take limiter off the fuel pump and fit a bigger turbo from the mk2 GTD. you can get upwards of 170 bhp but thats taking things quite a lot further...

wish i'd kept my AAZ conversion, would of been spot on in the jetta.

I've had a few mk3's...1 x 1.9 diesel, 1 x TD and 2 TDI's, all were great on fuel, the 1.9 diesel being the best.

In my opinion theres not that much difference in performance. Each a little better than the last. If i had to choose between a 1.3 polo and a golf tdi then i'd deffo choose the tdi. Make sure its been well serviced though.
