My white mk3 cl

Featured Replies

Not sure if i've ever put pics up on here so i'll give u a run down on the last 2 years.

I got offered a set of polished p slots for a great price i couldn't say no. After getting the wheels i decided i had to be dropped pretty low too so got a set of jackson tuning springs and shocks (80mm). The rear is adjustable and i think it still needs to go down a bit more. Just waiting for the weather to dry up before i can adjust it. lol.

Forgot to mention, finally decided to buy a new camera. After a lot of internet reading i decided to go for the Nikon D50. Excellent camera and well worth the money.

See what you think.

Just got the rear adjusted to sit 15mm lower, so i decided to go out and take a few more pics.

Grill and clear indicators on there way.

Then :

Rite, new plates came 2day but they fucked up my order.

Need advise on whether to keep or send back?

I wanted plates with no spacing but i'm looking at it and thinking if i put the tax stickers on (which i wasn't gonna do) i might look ok. What u's think?

Send it back or keep them?

then :

Finally after months of trying to decided on a new set of wheels i picked these up yesterday.

ATS Classics 13'' x 7''

Only got a chance to grab a few pics last nite but will take more this week.

Most recent :

Not updated in a while as i've been slightly lazy. However a few issues with the car have pushed me to improve it.

April was MOT time and 2 weeks before my mot was due my head gasket wet. typical!

Big gav took it away for we and got it fixed. see head below:

So, all new gaskets, head skimmed and all running sweet.

Went for the mot, failed on snapped spirngs! Turns out, the philj suspension kit i'd be using for about a year has rusted badly! rear springs snapped. see pic:

Gav's belly in the pic.

So chucked the standard springs on the back to get it through the mot. back end sitting very high!

Then i got on the blower to Rich at Vemon who had a spare pair of rear supersprint coilovers for a mk1 golf (fit mk3 polos). So one week later I got them delivered to the flat.

I decided I was gonna fit them myself. not being a mechanic I was just seeing if I had the ability. Turns out i do! :o

old shocks and springs off.

New ones on!

093.jpg

Back end is sitting a bit low but i'm off this work this week so gonna prep the car for gti international this week and gonna raise the rear end slightly.

Next up, i managed to pick up an ashley 4-2-1 manifold from clubpolo for much cheapness with the hole for the lamda sensor already welded in!

So took it down to simon to give me a hand fitting it as the side exit system would require some adjustment.

I do have a new polished rocket cover to go on but it's not ready hence i've not really done anything about the rust on this one. lol

Parts picked up and to be fitted before friday:

Steering damper (only found on gt's and g40's)

ARB blocks from g-ladderseite.

front lower strut brace

newly painted tailgate :D

Should also say, i've got a set on fiesta rs turbo seats, gt clocks and momo team 280mm steering wheel but i've never taken photos of the inside. lol

Thanks for looking.

Front coil overs are on the list they are just a bit more expensive. But you are right, i do always feel the back is just sitting a little too high.

think where u stuck tht air filter is a bit naff, iv got mine with the origonal intake pipe and its sat where charcole canister was...

yo how low are u at the front? and do u have any poke on the rear? lookin sweet.

  • Author

wee bit of poke at teh rear. mainly cos i put 10mm spacers on the rear. seemed to sit too flush without them.

2/3mm of poke at the front.

J

cheers man, so did u mean flaring the arches or rolling them, why would u need to flare them?
