hey just wondering how everyone got into vw polo's

Was cheaper than a corsa, clio and fiesta

first car was 1998 ford fiesta 1.3 shortly followed by a 1.25 Zetec which I enjoyed, both ok cars.

anyway smashed the zetec up and had to go for cheap car.

Ended up buying MK 4 Polo 1.0L for £150.00 and thought it was so much fun.

Was a 1996 model no power steering or anythin but was mint fun to drive.

Kinda got hooked from there. always like VW's tho!!!

i had a mk 4 polo no power steering 1.0l and i hated it, car felt to heavy for the lack of power it just wouldnt move.

the mark 3 however in 1.0L and an older car had more go in it

Way way back in the day I used to oogle the porka stand at shows I went to with my dad, then my sis got a coupe for her first car, followed by a 6n.

I was into small and light go-karts,and have enjoyed XR2's the most previously - then i got my first VW after many years of patriotic motoring and loved its solid-feel build. Then after buying a mate's MK2 breadvan,i found a MK2 coupe-S at auction - and the rest is history.

I dont actually have any interest in post-94 Polos but for their technology,which i steal unashamedly. :)

i got into polos by opening the door seemed never looked back from there really was a very highly areciated experience:P

baught mine only 8months ago as my second car after looking for my particular one for around a month, now my palns are to keep it unitl i make it into my coffin

i had mk2 golfs which i loved soooooo much, then i got a steal of a deal on an 03 plate laguna... crashed it 9 months later and needed something VAG again with cheap-ish insurance... hence the 1.4 8v polo and never looked back since

i bought my polo off a guy at work purely coz i thought it looked lurvly lol

i went to a garage forecourt with 2k and it was either a mk4 polo or a mk2 punto

i think i made the right choice

cousin drove a breadvan and a mk4 while we were in the RAF together, they both got us all over the country for some fun trips :-D was the obvious choice...I'm now on my 3rd in a year lol

The Wife wanted to learn to drive since she cant work manuals

we decides to get a Automatic. So we sold are old car Escort 1.8si

And managed to get the Little red polo. Her nans friend was selling

her at the the time.

Since she a old girl the car was well looked after and mantained came with few scruffs but no dents :)

Never looked back since.

Just cant wait to save and get Golf 2.0 turbo or VR6 miss the power tbh

but the polo will always stay dont think i could ever sell her

My parents bought a red bready back in 1989. Went on many a holiday in it, kind of grew up in her really. I learnt to drive in her, and was still driving it up until last year, 6 years after passing my test. Then i bought a 1990 bready, dropped in a 1.3 lump, taking the old one off the road. Still got her now (despite her now being worth 2K ). Though she's getting the treatment at the end of the summer after a year of rotting :(

Wanted an original Mini but couldn't find a good one. Neighbour had this breadvan mk3 for ages and I thought there was something qwerky and cool about it so I bought one of those instead.

I had always liked 6N's, a neighbour of mine had a new black 16v when I was 12 or 13 and I loved it.

Plus everyone at sixth form was into Saxos, Corsas and Clios, yawn..

Always found the Polo was the less obvious choice :-)

Went to look around for a first car and saw a 1.6 diseasel 306 which the guy tried to blag the clutch was ok, however, found it clearly needed changing, so walked away empty handed but with a full pocket.

Then a few days later, my dad came home and said, I've got you a car. It was the white polo, an old guy in Bolton had it, 50k on the clock. I wasn't keen at first until I started looking into the scene, had always wanted to modify a car, and that's when I truly came to grips with the whole euro scene and have never ever considered looking back from owning a VW.

did my work experience at a bosch agent , which did mot`s , got a job their after and used to help with the mot`s , you know i was the steering shaker . any way just sitting in loads of different cars and poking buttons and feeling the qualtiy of a vag compared to all other cars turned me to vag , then working on the cars later made me see how well enginered they are .

then when it came for me to drive polo was the only car , mk4`s were new at the time, so a mk2 saloon was my first car , and some how i`ve always had a mk2/3 polo ever since , i just really like the way they drive , the way you can chuck them about , tried loads of other cars and they just dont do it for me .

My next door beighbour was selling hers, researched on them bought it next day :)

Main reasosn for purchase, ahd decent stereo, new clutch, heater matrix, gearbox, dizzy and cam belt

Prior to that I've always been a BIG fan of VW's (campers and Golfs)

my mate owed me some moneys, he had a slightly modded 1L mk3 polo for sale, i just said give me that instead.

up until that point i had no interest in vw's at all, i didn't even know they did polo coupes (only knew about the breadvans), first time i saw him in it it was dark and i thought it was a mk2 fiesta

walked round a car sales place. there wasnt many small cars and out of the metro, peugeout and some dodgy korean crap, i picked a mk2 bready instead. did so many miles amd it was always reliable.

i wish my story had a dragon or a fight with Jackie Chan

but it doesn't

bought the car and here i am, upside being my dad had serviced it most of it's life so it was in proper good nick

my nan gave me one for my first car was aminter until it go wrote off 2 weeks later. I'm on me 3rd one now and go no plans to get rid of it

Mum wanted her car back while i was in uni and just got me it with out even telling me. it just turned up in my drive way at uni one afternoon and "my" other car was parked down the street, have i any regrets...OF COURSE NOT!!!
