Found a 100 last night it was cruising in front of me on the way home and the bucket seats told me there was something wrong, left the 30 to 60 and it looked as if i put my brakes on, i didnt even have time to press the accelerator, there was just noise and a small metro shaped object going down the straight like a rocket.

managed to catch up and pass him ddo.......when he pulled in to refuel 8 miles later turned round and had a chat with him, really tidy bloke, he was down for the motorsport on the weekend at pembrey.

TBH mate, the metro would be ace, proper stealth. as for safety well there cant be much difference between crashing this and a mk 1, 2, 3 polo really

If everyone is comparing metros to polos why not compare them to minis... they are LOVED by the masses yet they rust worse than most metros i know! metros have more space inside, same suspension/better brakes (same handling) more powerful engines. This coudl go on forever.

polos arent quick and nor do they handle......hence if i want a car to have fun in i dont buy a polo!

the only reason i did get one is because i needed a car and it was given to me,

but after owning one i wouldnt hesitate to get another,

Great little cars, cheap to mod, cheap to run, and just all round fun.

Why does everyoen love a mini... becase that have been going 30 plus years more than the mini and the metro was classed as a sudden rival for something everyone loved and for that reason no one liked it, heres a fact.. sales of metros over took sales of minis... but for some reason no one likes them. I cant complain though its kept prices down and thrill factor up.

Exactly what older car doesent rust.. You can look at my car it has a 5 p sized hole in the drivers footwell thats it and thats the norm for the early a series metros. Now if i was looking at an 85' polo there generally would be more rust to deal with, valance corners wing corners battyer tray e.t.c

I'm not arguing with you but id sooner drive a mini than a metro......personally i think they look better and are great fun to drive

granted the last time i drove a metro was many moons ago,when i was about 14 and bought a 1.1 austin metro

but Iv owned better 1.6 NA cars that make Vtec seem boring

but I love civics for the way they look,drive,go,reliabilty,what they cost to run etc.....just generally think that they are really good cars all round

We can argue til were blue in the face here but another fact.. minis have the same suspension as metros, or if you prefer metros copied th mini suspesnion idea and used it themselves. So funnily enough they handle the same, metro have arb's and better brakes (as a general rule not all models) so its more a thing of you woudl like it to handle better, but it doesent.
