Bruce's 5 door 6n2

Featured Replies

Model: VW Polo 6n2 Match.

Engine: 1.4 8v, Completely standard and slooooow! 8-)

Suspension: Dropped on coilovers, enough to scrub all round when cornering...

Brakes: Standard

Wheels and Tyres: Fresh off the production line...Schmidt's new line of Black Modern Line's. 15x8 ET25 wrapped in 195/45/15 Yokohama S-drives.

Exterior Styling: De-wiper, black indicators, DIY black headlights, gloss black slatted grille.

Interior Styling: Standard cloth 'match' interior. Horrible grey and blue, slightly chopped for custom ICE installation.

ICE: Completely custom SQ install consisting of; Alpine 7944r running optically to Alpine H701 processor. Celestra RA275 for Dynaudio MD102 tweets, PHD 2200 powering Dynaudio MW165 midbasses and another PHD 2200 slightly overpowering a PHD Neo 10.1 prototype sub.

Future plans: Keeping it simple but here are a few things that should be happening soon!

- Body work has got a bit tatty so the first thing on the agenda is to get that tidied up. Also the whole in the front bumper...ooops!

- Arches also need rolling as i'm scrubbing quite alot already and it definitely needs to go lower!

- Need finish my door builds which have been going on for months now.

- Looking to redo the interior. Probably leather/alcantara.

- GTI splitter waiting to go on but undecided whether i'm going to keep it.

- Smooth boot handle

- Stubby drivers mirror.

Thats your old grille by the way babz, gloss blacked.

Yeah they've only just started doing them with black centres Ed. Think these were the first set in the UK (apart from yours of course ;) ) Cost me a bit more than the silvers but I loved your ML's so much i had to do it! haha!

Shes now sporting a black GTI splitter and the arches are getting rolled tomorrow, so hopefully i'll be winding her down another 10-15mm tomorrow as shes still riding high!! :D

Will get some more pics up sooon!

Update!

Took the car into a local company called Topgear to get the arches rolled. I thought i'd give them a try as they had the proper kit and, lets face it, its not a tough job!

Cut a long story short, they took forever to do a shite job! So i've had to tidy it up myself  First and last time i'll be using them!

Was going to ask you Ed, You know the screw that holds the front bumber to the wing? Have you done any thing to this? Only asking because thats the only thing thats rubbing not that I've rolled the arches flat.

Hi mate sorry to hear about arches! when i got my arches done they didnt do the best job at all! which had to be sorted by my mates body shop :(

but if your talking about where the bumper meets the arch, thats exactly where my wheels did catch, i was thinking i would have to do some adjusting of the front bumber....

as for metal and screws...i did remeber doing some diy filing of some kind, but cant quite remeber. sorry i cant be any more help mate.

get some picks up of the new lowness!! :)

No worries buddy! I'll sort it out...probably with an angle grinder! :unibrow:

Yeah will try get some more pictures tomorrow if the weathers fine!
