Where is the PCV valve located

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a 1997 1.4 16v polo. Where will I find the PCV valve? Is it at the bottom of the pipe coming out of the air filter?, the pipe on the left as you look at the engine. If this pipe leads to the PCV valve it looks pretty difficult to access and remove, do I simply pull it out or will I need to get some tools in that small gap?

any help appreciated

I'm guessing by the lack of response that people don't know where the PCV valve is...

any help appreciated

crankcase breather valve, why do you want to remove it? it'll be on the end of that pipe yeah

Thanks Hayesey,

I noticed spots of oil on my air filter, this could be due to a clogged PCV valve (which can cause a increased oil pressure and loss of preformance) - so I wanted to have a look. I kinda guessed where it was but it is so difficult to reach I didn't want to spend ages removing it to find it wasn't the PCV valve. Bit late now for a weekend job, I'll do it next weekend. Have you replaced a PCV?
