Ok so I'm 17, i have no convictions or anything. :-D

So i looked at some mrk5's

i saw a 1.4 it was £1600 and I've got 3 grand saved up, so i went for a quote and it quoted me with £3750.00 so i though dam thats bloody expensive.

so i looked at a 1.0 at £1500 and i went for a quote again and it quoted me £2800.00 still thats bloody expensive, a bit over the top if you ask me.

and a gti is 7 grand :? :-?

I'm sure i must be doing something wrong, my parents wont let me on their insurace caus they aready have 3 cars between them and you cant protect no claims on 4 cars, its 3 maximum, well with the insurance there with anyways. So I've gotta pay my own insurance full comp.

I'm using confused.com

could someone please help me out caus I'm sure that it cant be that much to insure a mrk5 2000 reg ? :?

cheers,

lewis

check how much it is for you mum to go on as a named driver, they wont have to worry about their no claims, also check for 3rd party prices?

i thought that if they where using their no claims for one car on a policy they couldnt gain/loose points on a completely seperate policy? so in that point they may be able to insure it saying they have 0 no claims and get you as a named driver, best thing to do is ring a company up and ask/confirm this over the phone.

hope this helps
