Anyway,i think its pure comedy. Its got to be a crank,but if they're serious,i really couldn't care about the inevitable damage to Aston's image - along with an increasing number of people.

As Heartagram said, Aston shouldn't make cheap city cars, it'll be a seriously bad decision and the reputation for expensive, high performance sports cars will be gone.

I expect to see a lot more sports car companies doing the same. It's not through choice, they can't keep making their powerful cars if they don't offset the CO2 output with shit like this. It's also a potential reason for Porsche to buy VW as well, although that's gone tits up of late.

Not cool. Aston are a prestige brand. This just cheapens their name. Plus it will just be a toyota with an Aston Badge, so hence over priced. And th bade will probably fall off too!

It's going to be initially offered only to existing Aston Martin customers, and those with cars on order.

Given the strength of the Aston Martin brand, I very much doubt it'll be damaged by something like this. You could essentially paint a dog turd dark silver, stick an AM logo on it, and people would still think its cool. Hence why someone spending £160k on a DBS isn't going to have too big a problem paying £20k for a small city car which very few others will have.

So the Cygnet allows the company to reduce its overall C02 figures, and gives its customers an exclusive trinket of a car. Everyone wins.

Its far from cheap, base models start at £30k and go up to £50k!

They have a stock toyota 1.33 engine, and dam they are ugly!

Original sales are only to other Aston martin owners as an alternative day to day transport (but why would they get one of these over anything else, if they want a small and stylish car get an Audi A1)

Yep very strange i'd seen it back when this post was up last year but more details are available on it now including price (that wasn't mentioned on top gear) which for a base model is 10k more then what people were saying last year

Utterly pathetic, yet more shite thought up by the failure that is the EU.

Why should Aston and other supercar manufacturers have to level out their CO2? There are plenty of companies that only make environmentaly friendly cars so doesn't that balance out the car market as a whole?

Plus it doesn't matter if Aston sell none of these cars, only that they produce them, so if no-one buys them (likely) then that would have caused more pollution by wasting materials to make them.
