Na Action this year...most my mates are bumming aircooled and tbh i dont care where i go as long as its a field there is beer...

right all the previous fuss - it is 90% vw as xcore says, the 1.8t ayp lump pushes out 156bhp in standard form on the ko3 and will remap to ~ 200bhp wich is near the limitations of the ko3, add a direct fit ko3s and gain around 25bhp.

if you are going for low low i hope you went for 16's - i had 15"RMs on mine 7.5 + 8.5j's with 195/45's stretched on and in 6 months i went through 5 sumps.

the 1.8t is a fairly bullet proof engine, the main weekpoint is the water pump - they are fitted with plastic impellers which 9 times out of 10 will fail and leave you stuck at the side of the road. however you can source a metal impeller version from gsf / ecp which is 100% recommended when you do a cambelt change.

the cupra suffers badly from heatsoak as it runs a tiny sidemount intercooler which does next to nothing to cool charge. so fmic should be near the top of things to do.

the standard recirc valve (DV) are also prone to failure and the ayp engine will not allow a fully atmospheric DV so i'd recommend the forge 007p dv (make sure you get the correct rated spring)

it's also worth doing the n112, n249 and sai bypass on the cupra - i'm sure you're on scn and will find out plenty of info on these - if not pm me.

i went 15"...if sump does fail...ill get US spec one see how that fairs!

but tbh i dont try it that much/nearly enough so I'm not that worryed :)

i also found out after i'd sold it vw sell a hard plasic sump guard which would have saved me!

that looks phat man, what wheels are they

Yep, Ibiza/Polo = same car.

What power do these have standard then Leigh? Would have thought they'd have at least 200 stock :?

Reeemaap!

There 156bhp or 160bhp depending on which website you wanna belive lol!! the Cupra R 's came with 180bhp but only 75 of them ever hit these shores so they hold there value very well (if you can find one)

so for a £300 remap I've saved myself £1.700

Cant take these low low but cos of side skirts etc they give the look of being low 8-)

Plus I'm going for VERY good coilovers :)

You might have the same power but you're missing the Brembo brakes and OZ wheels...there's the £1700 right there!

Friend had one of these. Quite liked it. Power delivery with the Revo remap was like a diesel though, big low down torque and then nothing up top. Didn't stop it being quick, just not very refined. I think the Cupra is very good value for money!

Love these ibizas, cupras are the only ones worth buyin lol, i see one everyday ont way to work and i think wow id love to buy one for daily and then have my polo as a project! Do i spy new rims in those pics? nice slam also!!!

I'm a fan

black centres on the turbos :ninja:
