I'm asuming resprays other that standard colours increase your insurance?

i would like to know why on third party and TPFT as you wouldnt be able to claim if it was scratched and it doesnt change the performance of the car...

resprays changing insurance? errr i dont think so.

You will need to tell the DVLA that your car is a different color.

Insurance would just be for a blue polo instead of a red one for example.

yeh and as far as I can remember insurance companies don't even ask for the colour of your car. They will know the colour of it, by having your registration number and the corresponding colour that the DVLA hold for the car so all you have to do is make sure that that is up to date (ie what ben_reza said above and inform the DVLA).

If you were mid-insurance policy you wouldn't have to declare the colour change to your insurance company either, literally just tell the DVLA.
