No mate...it needs the brakes done before antthing else gets

done to it.Ordered the parts at work yesterday so as soon as

i get it to Cumbernauld i'll start getting it roadworthy.

looks a good one just needs a good clean over!

i hear its home now :unibrow:

I've always liked 5dr mk2's - i've owned a couple and can say they are one of the best shaped VW's out there - total classic and you will never loose any £££ on it!

looking good scott

This is looking well healthy,

I don't know where to start with mine as I already know there are three areas needing welded and I don't have a lot of spare time. I'm trying to figure out if there are hidden costs lurking which would mean a longer term project.

Are you going to take all the the arch trims off to check for rust? think I'm going to as I've got to take a wing off to weld anyway.

What are you going to do engine wise? Obviously stuff like giving the throttle body a good clean (I've only ever had carbed polo's) I'm also going to do the timing belt but don't know where else to dare go near?

I found these two threads that seem to be a good move for digifant cars..

Trying to get my head round this AFM adjustment mentioned further down this thread, only advisable if everything else is running sweet I believe...

Cheers Duncan,

I'm not making the Polo Show because of Uni so hope everyone enjoys..

lovely car you got for a bargain price, well done. sold my 3 door j plate with 140k for 900 pounds in April, still miss it! lots of parts now obsolete from main dealer now so look after it.

^ Thanks guys...

Ah first time I've seen this Scott! 5 door Mk2s look alright. They are oddly proportioned with the huge rear doors though!

I've got a couple of mechanical bits and bobs spare if you need anything.

Cheers Toby...needs a rear caliper, discs and pads so far but i've got that sorted ;)

Have you got a couple of window winding mechanisms lying about...?

Nope afraid not, just the ones on the car at the moment. Although... it'll be a while till it's back on the road so I could lend you them lol

It's cool mate...got a new one from e-bay for £6 last week so i'll keep looking on there.

That's not too bad. I think Mk2 part prices are bound to jump up soon though. I'm glad mine isn't wanting for anything!

looks bargain dude!

is you are gearknob oem colkswagen or ist it an aftermarket knob from votex?
