slammed 6n2s.....

Featured Replies

You must be doing something wrong cause I ran my Lupo lowered for aaaages and it never wore tyres out unevenly. Surely if you have loads of negative camber on the front the handling wouldn't be as good because less of the tyre is getting proper contact with the road?

I would have thought the same,I have no idea how it works, but I've found my handling not as responsive since adjusting my camber back to near enough normal. But afew people on here have said the same but would like a deffinative explanation if poss please peeps :p

But you see touring cars wqith neg camber so iit surely can't be bad for handling otherwise they wouldn't run it I suppose

I find it odd how lowered 6n2 drivers are saying they are going through front tyres quick.

I've had 2 6n's (similar suspension setup as far as I'm aware) both have been decked and I've had a set of fronts last 30,000 miles between the two cars and I only took them off because the outside edge was close to the wear indicator.

I had the tracking done both times after lowering and did the camber myself, i.e. as much positive camber as the shocks would allow then tightened them up. And as I say tyres lasted around 30,000miles like that and thats with the odd hard thrash aswell.

So I'll agree with Heartagram and say you guys with 6n2's must be doing something wrong. Or you are all chavs and love spinning out of every junction

nail on the head I'm a chav

well if u look at the 6n2 front springs they are much wider than the 6n, also comes down to the et i have an et 40 so the fronts are tucked hence more rubbing against the spring, i have about a mm clearance between the tyre and spring.

and i dont spin out of control, I'm actually careful because of my stretch.

so you cant really comment on 6n2 because u haven't got or had one :)

p.s. heartgram is correct negative camber means shit handling.

but I'm still get shims.

wrong

negative camber means better cornering as when the tyre flexes there will be a larger contact patch on the road on the outside wheel

x2

Negative camber is brilliant for handling and provides more grip round bends, but shit in straight lines.

That's what I was told by the guy who adjusted mine for me at chemix autocentre just outside Birmingham, and it does make sense aswel.

However, tooo much camber is bad.

ok my bad but that dude still doesnt own a 6n2

and I'm only getting negative camber to go lower :)

I knew i wasnt jst being a cock and thinking it seemed that the car ad better handling ablities when i was running neg camber
