Iv just rang some insurance company's asking for quotes with the car lowered within 5cm lowerage and another quote with more than 5cm lowerage. Does anyone know why there is a price difference? does it really matter how low you are? As iv asked quotes for more then 5cm lowerage and they didn't want to cover me on it? they just said we can't quote you if its 5cm or more?!!? why is this? and another thing is alot of insurance people don't understand what coilovers are? i say they are adjustable they are like ohhh ok...??

Also i rang elephant.co.uk with the same problem, i asked if i could get a quote if it was more then 5cm, so he put me on hold and then said we can't quote you on this today, you would have to ring us when you have changed it (i.e 2moro) and then we can quote you?!?!!?!!?!?! I'm so annoyed as i only asked for a quote?!!? and he wouldn't even give me another quote?! what difference does it make like if i do or don't, its not like they are going to come and check the car just for a quote, as i haven't even got a policy from them for him to judge me on if i have changed the hight or not? WTF?!

the same thing happened with admiral but i askd nicely and then she quoted me for the extra lowerage, so there was no problem. i dont know what got into elephant.co.uk people?

but anyways to the point, what is the difference between the lowerage of within 5cm and more then 5cm.

also what would i say to the insurance people anyways? as i dont have an exact measurement on coilies anyways? so how can i tell if it is 5cm or not?

Thats nothing, i had to wait 2 years for payment for an accident which was not even my fault. Insurance companies don't like paying out full stop. That's why you are giving them a free ticket if you don't declare all mods to car.
