Basically i have a 1000w AMP to power a 1000w SUB, but I've just installed 2 300w 6x9's and I'm also wanting to run them of an AMP, i just wondered to save me having to a run another remote,power and ground cable from the front of my car if i could just bridge them all over to my new amp ? (I.E power goes from battery to existing amp then bridged over to new amp) i hope that makes sense ..

if you have big enough power cable you can indeed run more than one amp off the same cable. you will need to know what the maximum current draw is for both amps, then choose a cable to suite.

the conventional way to to this is to run a big wire (with a fuse big enough to supply the 2 amps) from the battery to a distribution block in the boot. from the block you can then run individual cables to each amp (make sure both are fused though and make sure the fuses are matched to each amp)

the remote can be shared too and i dont know why you have run a earth from the front of the car, as its perfectly acceptable to use an earth point in the boot. As this is normally where the amps are mounted i tend to stick to individual earth cables rather than daisy chaining one.

if none of this makes any sense then i suggest you forget the idea, else you will only end up setting your car on fire via an electrical fault!

MAKE SURE THE CABLES ARE THICK ENOUGH!!!

You can share 1 power cable between 2 amps, providing it's big enough to supply enough current to both amps..

However you can only bridge identical amps and take care when doing so as the impendence (ohms) will change.

the gauge of the cable I'm currently using it for a 2400w set up so it should be fine, the only thing is about what you said where i have to use "identical amps" is a problem as the amp I'm useing now is a fairly expensive one but I'm only looking for a cheap one to run the 6x9's off .. would it really be a problem if i didnt use identical amps?

You can run any amount of different amp's off one power cable theoretically..

But bridging is different, it's strapping 2 of the same amp together for one speaker system..

Say for example you have a 1000w sub, you can bridge 2 500w amps to make 1 1000w line for the sub.

You couldnt bridge a 700w amp and a 300w amp togther to make the 1000w.......

^ he wasnt asking about bribging the speaker outputs, so its totally irrelevant.

dub-jack - for what you are planning to do you it will be fine, as obviously the small amp will power your speakers and the other will power a sub
