once upon a time i had a GT. it was awesome!

the day before edition 2007 it kicked the bucket. it now lives in fife with a G40 and lots of brake horses.

where do you go after a GT? well i went to the opposite end of the scale and bought a new-ish golf. it cost me my university fee's (didnt want to go anyways) and the money i had started saving for something grown up like a house but they can wait....

so i get one totally bog standard 2004 mk5 golf

over the next year and a bit throw in some new parts...

a half painted GTi back bumper

a votex grille

a set of coilovers

some wheels from a big fancy merc

a "US spec" bumper

then a few home painted bits and bobs, some ebay bargains, some other crap and what yu end up with is this:

its on going and its taking a while for me to save pennies to afford stuff. slowly but surely :)

i hated mk5 golf's to begin with but they started to grown on me. was looking at all differant cars when my GT went pop and this came up. thought why not cost me a good £8000 to buy it in the first place and i have spent a fair whack on it in the time i've had it but its been worth it :) being 21 and owning a car like this gets you some looks

thanks :) the votex is a bit of a marmite thing with everyone. in all honesty i dont particularly like it myself. however i do like it because the chances of seeing another one is rather slim :p i keep it on in the hope that one day i come outside and say "wow thats really cool" but it still hasn't happened yet

i've been considering cutting it up into a 3 piece grille (the 2 little side bits and the main grille) and bolt it back up to see if it looks like it will fit better? the black gap underneath it just seems to stop at the grille so I'm going to see if continuing it will make it better :)

hahah :) the money was there and i wasnt going to uni as i had a job so why not :)

moor doors are better cause they aint usually first choice when it comes to modifying cars too

just bought myself 4 door cars from a newer golf with space for removable trim :) still got 3 pieces to find but i have the trim so may paint it up funny :)

not at all mate quite a few polos kicking about my area just now, all differant ages, so wanted summit differant :) next car will hopefully be a G40/GT didnt get enough out of my last one and really want another even a 1.0 litre to bash about it would be fun enough :p

hahah no not a 6n2. i would have a 1 litre mk3 but none other

got a couple new pieces at the weekend, new stuff coming tonight and more bits later in the week
