You take good pics mate, what setup you using, and how are you doing the "cartoony" effects?

  • Author

thanks people :D

i use a Sony Alpha a200 with the standard 18-70mm lens and a Tamron 70-200 lens. i use photoshop cs4 and lightroom 2.0 to do the editing of pictures. the cartoony effect just comes from editing using differant methods :) its basically a faux HDR as you can get the highlights and lowlights all visible at the same time but the sky wasnt to good that day?!!

This is one of the best standard to modded golfs I have seen!!

Keep it up dude!

Uni is for those who are too scared to get a real job anyways

Looking spot on mate! Makes me want a Mk5!

Keep the pics rolling in!

if you ever buy one dude dont buy a 1.4.... a 1.4TSI yes but not a normal one....

That last pic is mint...looks more like a feature pic!

Gonna have to get on the phone to the bank methinks!!!!

  • Author

hahah i wish it was a feature :p

they are good cars and all (even though mines is slow as sin!) but everything is expensive seeing as they are still "new". wheels being the worst! 18's or 19's are bloody dear! especially when most 5x112 wheels are merc, audi and bentley.....

another day another pic ;)

thanks dude :)

i do try with the photos :) i think they make the car better than it really is though so dont be dissapointed if you ever see it

that idea was banded about when it went in to get the numberplate done but i decided on keeping em :) i think it breaks the front up a little bit... i do like the totally smooth front but not as much as with the side strips :) plus most people go for the full smooth look and i prefer not to go with tradition ;)

ok so took the car down to edition at the weekend just past!

spend 2/3 days giving it a full clay, polish, wax, wheel polish and interior clean and hoovering. and then i had to drive it the 350 miles to edition in the pissing rain!

but anyways heres some pics of the car at the show! if anyone snapped any please put them up!

on the drive down!

thankfully the rear of the car was brought down perfectly with all the crap in the boot :p edition is also a bad place cause i am going to have to save lots to get something new for the car :p

Looks very smart and tidy, like it.

While you're swapping those interior bits, I'd invest in a better OEM steering wheel, the one you've got is like the one in my 1.2 poverty spec Polo.

  • Author

thanks man!

defintiely on the list of to do bits but i need to fit an airbag with any of the good lookingOEM wheels and the air bag alone is like £200.... not good!

I was well happy when i saw your car at edition the other day :) i love it :D makes me want one soo bad :( keep it up!

Looks really good fella! I like all the interior touches you've made like me with my 6n 8-)

ok so with the only real things still to do on the golf being big things or silly fiddly things, not much has been going down as of late! well not much worth mentioning anyways...

purchased a few wee parts over the past month or so like a leather headnbrake and an edition 30 gear knob (this thing is awesome!)

mk5golf432.jpg

got my last indicator tinted (still not a job I'm happy with but it looks good from afar as you can see below :p)

also got my eye on a couple new parts but will need to wait see how they pan out :) and just one last picture to show its still alive! just need to sell all the crap i've taken out to fuel more new stuff :D
