NCB Question

Featured Replies

Currently i am seeking insurance for my first car (1.4 8v). However on my own its going to cost upwards of 3k, and i cant afford that on my "income", or lack of it.....

So i was pleased to see that under my mum or dads name, it was only £600 because they have no claims. However i didnt realise that you could only use a NCB on one policy and as they each have their on policies on their own cars, i cant use it, pushing the quote up to £2k.

My dads policy is with quinns, and my best quote is with the post office. Is there anything stopping me just goining ahead with the £600 quote and just showing them proof of his NCB.

I guess what I'm asking is, does the fact they are different companies make it likely that they wont realise that my dad already has used it for another policy.

I then realise that this would void my insurance if they found out, is there any better way round this, i mean i find it difficult to understand why it really matters, as he has the driving experiance.

Cheers 8-)

If your gonna mess around like that you might as well drive without insurance.

seriously, no.

go with adrian flux .... i got my insurance on a 1,4 8v for £1600 tht was on my own 3rd party fire and theft :D

you get discount with them aswell for being a club member :)

They would call the current Insurer regards the NCB, So to be honest seriously not worth doing.

The sooner you start earning NCB in YOUR OWN NAME the sooner the prices will come down.

It is also worthwhile doing Pass Plus as this does help plus Full Members on here get up to 15% discount on a quote with us.

If you would like us to look into a quote for you then please PM me your Name and Postcode and Contact Number and i can arrange a callback for you. The quote would have to be in your name but we could look at getting your parents added to the policy.

Dan.

Adrian flux is the wrong side of £5000 TPFT and elephant cant give me a quote.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

Have you tried Admiral?

A lot of younger drivers I know, (myself included) have found them to be a lot cheaper than other companies, including Elephant, one of their sister companies.

Also, get quotes for both TPFT and Full Comp. Quite often Full Comp is the same price.
