Spose i better update this, managed to get the ABU manifold in the end (they seem to be like bloody gold dust).

Ill start on the machining tomorrow...

Oh yeah i've also got a genuine VW DIN blanking plate, I'm led to believe they're pretty rare, what do people recon?

Nah it's the block/head from the 1.6 AEE, with GT ignition, fuelling and management. It's been done a couple of times before, 110bhp is pretty easily obtainable from the set up with a few mods. The only hard bit really is mating the GT inlet manifold with the head as they don't fit.

Two options, you either weld up and re-drill the head, or cut and shut an ABU manifold flange onto a GT inlet manifold (which is what I'm doing as I've got a budget of 300 quid for the whole build).

well gonna sort the coupe first full repaint wheels lowered and the bits I've done on it at the mo ,thats it for bout now and when thats done ime gonna start on the mk1 weld it all up afh it full repaint wheels lowered hopefully berg arches

My plans have pretty much gone out the window, as funds have dried up (being a student sucks).

Anyway the other day I was giving it a polish (first one in about 5 months) and i've realised how bad the paint has got, stone chips left right and centre, rust coming through in loads of places, bumper hanging off etc. Really fucking annoying seeing as last summer I spent so much time getting it mint, not a spot of rust on it and all the paint was clean as. Being at uni over the winter and not giving it any love has taken its toll haha.

I see no point doing the engine swap now, I'm not gonna be happy with the car at all, So i'm putting it on hold.

So may time it's coming off the road for a complete refresh and the engine swap... I'll update this again then when It's done :-)

i wanna do that with my red mk3 its looking a bit worse for wear but i cant help but drive it!

Need peoples opinions, just refurbed my wheels today an wondering whether i should go back to silver as I'm not keen at all.

The options are go back silver, or change the shade of white to alpine white so they're colour coded. What does everyone recon as i'm seriously undecided!
