Well was a bit of a mission to do it but pleased with the end result, just needs porting. Welding credit goes to Pat Banks of Limit BMX.

Right update on this! Pretty much been slack as a mother and haven't put the engine in yet  Partly because I broke my arm very badly in summer meaning working on the car is near impossible. I've had my cast off, the bones haven't healed properly and it's generally still shit, but i'll get there in the end.

This has kinda been a good thing in some ways though, as I'm gonna turn the AEE into my second year uni project (motorsport degree). Which means I'm gonna have to step it up and do some work to it to get a good grade.

Anyway, I was gonna keep the engine pretty standard apart from the usual GT mods and a GT cam, vernier pulley etc, but that wouldnt be complex enough...

So now plans are to blueprint the engine, port and polish the head and a few other bits an pieces, and build custom management.

Anyway heres a fairly recent pic from edition. Got some Corrado seats in it now, would recommend them to anyone with a mk3! So much better than GT/G40 seats.

Porn mate seriously, One of my favourite polo's, So is the AEE not in then lol? i though it was? Or is that another lad off here?

So your using AEE head and bottom end and GT fueling plus cam?

Have you not though about set of 600's? Or a nice webber?

Would be very nice, i love driving my mk2 much more than my mk3 because of its webber,

Maxwell

Probably another lad off here haha.

Yeah AEE head and bottom end with GT cam, fuelling, ignition and gearbox.

I've thought about carbs but it's a post '92 and getting it through an emissions test will be a joke

Plus i'll be using standalone management + bigger injectors so I will be able to map the fuelling perfectly (i hope).

Such a sick car man! Love it!

this looks awesome!

nice job mate

Those photo's

Don't suppose you have hi-res versions, i want that as my background. Keep it up man, looks epic. :smirk:

Awesome car dude, plans sound sweet, but it seems that the Gt induction system would be so restrictive for the power you could get from the engine, since your switching to standalone management anyway, it would be a great oppurtunity to move to ITBs, the skoda felicia kit cars were achieving in excess of 160bhp from an AEE/AEA, but no doubt with forged intenals.

Matt.

Pictures of said engine....

I took the photos at the Skoda motor museum in the Czech Republic.

......those throttle bodies and airbox do look mighty expensive though.

Thanks for the info dude. I'd like to move to ITB's but I'm on a fairly tight budget! (being a student). I'll be using a golf GTI AFM, getting rid of the GT airbox for something more suitable and porting the throttle body fairly considerably so hopefully that will be sufficient for the moment.

The insurance is another factor that comes into it, it's gonna be £780 with a power cap of 130bhp as i'm only 20; which is all i can afford! So maybe when I'm 21 i'll go down the ITB route :)

I don't spose you know if they used bigger valves to get 160bhp?

Ahh i see, insurance is always a killer! porting it to within an inch of its life sounds like the way to go for now then. I've got no idea about the valves, I'm sure Skodaboy could give you some info on this, would be cool to do that for your project though.

Probably another lad off here haha.

AEE's are 75bhp standard aren't they? What you hoping with all these mods?

Should be very torquey with all these. Do you know what the bore and stoke is of the AEE?

Also, about carbs from a bike, They can be tuned to be very fuel efficient, efficient enough to pass an M.O.T surely.

Post some pics up of your so far!

That engine is relatively boring compared to the others i took pictures of, Fabia S2000, Fabia WRC & a crazy looking twincam with a downdraught head! May post more pics from museum soon.

Matt.
